Why do devs hate 1st person drivers?

Hi,

I have to use 1st person camera. I just have to, I don’t get any feeling for the car in 3rd person view. I can’t drive this way.

So my view is already worse than in 3rd person but then there’s this “beautiful” mirroring effect at the windshield blinding me. Why oh why ? Please add an option in the setting to turn this off. For now I’m helping myself by setting up blueprints with cloudy weather to get rid of that.

Oh, and the broken windshield gets old soon. I’ve turned damage off. Well, thanks for having that option.

I prefer the hood cam. I get a feel for the car’s movement without the obstructed narrowness of either driver cam. But, yes, some of the windshields have ridiculous interior reflection issues.

You CAN turn off this option in the “advanced video options”.
It’s called “windshield reflection quality” => set it to “off”

As far as I can see, “Advanced Video Options” don’t exist.

On PC. Dynamic optimization has to be disabled to access it.

Uhm, no. I’m on XONE. Sorry I did not mention this.

Thank you for this. I never realised you could completely turn off the windshield reflection.

This is an especially bad problem in Motorsport 7 on some cars. Will have to check if the same is possible there.

Why do players flood the forums with over dramatic posts?

“Hate”?

Do you see how seriously entitled and overdramatic you sound? Stop whining and if there’s a genuine problem, log a ticket.

I do wish there was an option to move the”seat position” in first person especially when using the no steering wheel view

I prefer an unobstructed view, so use bumper cam. However, it’s far too low (being on the bumper obviously).

Get some perspective, they don’t hate 1st person’s perspective, they even added a new 1st person camera and FOV options.

But they certainly could do more.

I stick to hood view after driving 40 years no way can use that chase view kids seem to like. how scary is it going to be when they start driving for real lol.

Just want to say that i do really love the new driver cam without wheel, it’s my new favorite for ever. Great you can adjust the field of view, would be insane if you could also adjust position.

Hood cam (the one been using till now in all driving games) feels now too low, and inside cam with wheel is too cluttered, i play with a laptop so my screen is too small. Third person views are just out of the question for me, can’t take a single corner right.

When I am actually trying to race I use hood or interior view and only on cars with a bright color interior do i even notice reflections, only time i use chase cam is when drifting on controller.

I like the reflection in the window, adds a bit relaisum. God help you if and when you start driving a real car, you can’t turn it off there.

but please remember: it is still a fun racer
