Which Forza should I play after FM3...? FM4 / FM6 / FH3

My strange predicament and a new found love for Forza.

I recently re-introduced myself to Forza with FM3 and fell in love with it. I’m nearly done with it and started racing online but was wondering where I should go from here in the series. I just got an Xb1 and plan on getting FM6 and Horizon 3, however I don’t want to make such a monumental leap from FM3 to FM6 if I may potentially be ruining my love for FM4/5. Especially if at this point the only two Forza games I’ve played are FM2 and FM3.

This is a strange dilemma to be in but I loved FM3 so much that I don’t want to do away with the potential joy in subsequent Forza titles by unnecessarily jumping to the latest release.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I loved FM3 and still do. However FM6 is very good. FM4 is also very good. I rate FM4 just as good as FM3. I would definitely skip FM5. I agree it is a hard choice and you may want to wait until FM7 is released later this year. I think that is when it is supposed to be released. I think FM6 may be the better choice than FM4 just so you can get use to the Xbox One and will be ready for FM7.

FH3 is a totally different game. It is an arcade racing game with some realistic car settings. It is fun but it is s different genre.

fm5 has better races in my opinion with the ai but fm6 is better overall in things to do. if you can get a cheap copy of fm4 buy it its defiantly an upgrade on fm3.

I say get them all - they all offer unique features and strengths. Great games to have in your collection. Don’t skip out on the games before F6/H3!

If you haven’t already done so, go and buy Forza 4. IMHO its by far the best Forza for realistic feeling physics, especially with a steering wheel, despite having Forza 6 and Horizons 2 & 3!!

OK I admit, graphically its not as pretty as newer versions, there’s no weather, less tracks (but still a decent variety), and there’s a limited number of players remaining within the online community but you cant exactly blame that on Forza.

It just seems to feel that bit more connected with the driver than newer versions.

Forza 4 is great overall. I played every game in the series in order until FM4\Horizon 1 and the improvements are incremental and significant in terms of vehicle physics\handling. FM4 is the most similar to the modern games in the way the cars behave so it still feels quite modern in that sense. They also pushed the graphics to the limit on the 360 while still maintaining the 60 FPS target reliably.

FM1 was kinda basic but it still had that responsive feel that Forza games are known for. FM2 was an improvement over the first game but it felt very much like a remake. FM3 is where the physics gained more grip\weight hence the increased sense of realism and in FM4 they made the simulation more realistic while maintaining that feel of weight in the cars. In FM4 you could actually much more easily lose control of a car even with TCS and STM, which makes sense. In the previous games this wasn’t really the case.

I also played FM6 on PC as well as FH3, both are kinda similar in terms of physics. I’m glad that they moved away from the arcadey\drift physics of the first Horizon game however (though even that felt good for what it was). I think I like FM6 more for the realism and honestly I can’t imagine what improvements (other than the graphics) are going to be present in FM7.

Forza 4 still one of my favorites, great car and track selection.

Didn’t care for forza or FM2, switched to GT 3/4, the 5 prologue. Gave FM3 a try and for me, it put the others in the rear view mirror. FM4 continued on a great path. 3/4 are probably my favorites, hard to chose between the two. Horizons are a blast in a different way. I like FM5/6, glad to see 6 bring back the ability to skip post rave screens that was left out of 5. I’m loving FM7, but still playing 3/4. I give 2 a go now and then and each I realize why I didn’t like it…
