WHERE is the FIX for CONVERTIBLES...?

With the addition of the Ferrari California T, with a WORKING top, WHY haven’t the CCONVERTIBLES that are ALREADY in the game been fixed yet?

There are SO many cars that DON’T have a working top, that SHOULD.

ANYONE else still frustrated by this?

It would be nice, but will we get them?

While I do agree the option to remove the top (even without animation) should be on all convertibles, the thing that annoys me more is that all working convertibles (including the California T) have their windows up when open.

The amount of cars which have working convertible tops is far, far too low. We have four Miatas in this game and how many have working tops? None of them? There’s hardly any targas either and not a single vehicle with removable t-tops.

Then again, the more convertibles we have the more likely it is we’ll end up with more vehicles with excessively dark dashboard and behind the wheel views at dusk and dawn. The lighting glitch needs to be fixed as well.

There’s actually very good reason to put windows up.

Either you have never driven one or you have extremely short hair.

I don think at any point they said all convertibles would have animations or be able to remove the roof at all, only that some would.

They added the 918 Spyder. I guess they thought that was good enough.

Honestly though I kind of want them to focus on other things. Like the aforementioned lighting issues in cockpit view. No real point in being able to put up the roof in the 2016 MX-5 if I can’t freaking see anything anyways while driving it.

At least with the roof permanently down there is a small chance the sunlight will hit the dash the exact right way and I’ll be able to see my tach for a moment.

It can’t be that hard to have working tops & windows, TEST DRIVE Unlimited had it all working & that was more than 10 years ago

If windows are up then they’re in correct position for higher speeds.

If you have windows down:

  • it gets louder forcing you toincrease volume if you want to listen to music or speak louder if you’re trying to have conversation
  • vortex forms that can potentially cause your long hair to distract you and make your hair look like bird’s nest

Those who want the windows up and the top down have obviously never owned a convertible. Top down, windows down, radio up, who cares about talking, at that point, it’s all about the drive.

Now I really miss mine

:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

Not my baby but I had the same sweet ride.

Thank you for telling us you don’t have any hair…

Hahahaha. I had plenty back then, and hair ties too!

Look, let’s please not go the realism route.

The cars look better with the windows down (in my opinion) and your hair will probably be a mess anyway if you make 600 meter jumps in your car… and land perfectly.

THIS!

Well the windows could go up, and down too.

It was addressed on two Let’s Go streams, during Q&A, where they said they would be fixing the existing cars that did not have an option to remove the roof.

Still nothing though.
But that first one is the same Q&A where they said night was longer than previous games, but it’s actually about 5 minutes long.

Yeah and we are like 4 SERIES later with no news about the convertible tops

This convertible top issue has been something I have been complaining about since FH3. In that game, several cars have a working convertible top in Forzavista, but not in game. FH4 had the same problem, but they eventually added a couple of cars that had the roof down by default. In a convertible thread in the FH4 subforum, one of the devs was quoted with some vague comment about how they also really wanted working convertible tops in a Horizon title, but it likely wouldn’t be implemented until FH5.

Fast forward a couple of years, and we get teased by a functional convertible top in one of the early game trailers. We were then told that many cars would have a working convertible top. When FH5 launched, you could tell which cars had working tops by the addition of a small HUD element next to the speedometer. Here’s the problem though…75% (or more) of those convertible s were affected by a bug that prevented the HUD from loading and opening the top. I personally filed a half dozen support tickets about it, with the usual annoying results.

After a few months, T10/PG (or whoever) FINALLY started to fix some of the cars, but oddly, not all of them. Then a few months after that, we got a bloody big slap in the face when this little note appeared in the “known issues” list on the support page…listed under “FH5 won’t fix or by design”…

“Cars - Convertible feature does not work in free roam for some cars such as the Honda S2000, Mazda mx5 2016, Mazda mx5 2013, and Mercedes-Benz SLK55 AMG (Date Updated:01.10.22)”

So…after nearly a year of support tickets and pure bloody silence from the devs, they decide to NOT complete the convertible bug fix. The ridiculous part of it is that it is only FOUR freaking cars (two Honda S2000’s, one Miata, and a M-B) that they still need to fix…how hard can that possibly be? Why only do a partial fix? It’s just one of the MANY reasons why I am rapidly losing all interest in FH5. The working convertible feature was one of the main selling points for me, and why I was willing to toss down $100 for this game.

You know what would be nice? If one of these days, a dev can be bothered to actually tell us why they decided to not complete the bug fix. Then again, if kangaroos could fly…

edit Right…so in the series 5 update Q&A, Tom (?) flat out says YES, they will fix the existing convertibles affected by the bug, but now they say no they won’t fix them after all. BLOODY LIARS!!!

Funny thing, it was actually in the “Won’t fix or by design” section before they said on stream that they would fix it. And then they went and confirmed it twice. But still, nothing has been done.

The scenes when out of spite they make it so just one window goes down.
