Where do you want Forza Horizon 5 to take place?

Oh, I get It! Yes, FM6 but with some of FM4’s missing Features would be pretty Easy to do.

Obviously we will never see Visual Customisation like in FM2 again due to the Licencing Problems.

With a Decent UI Programmer, getting a UI as Swift, Clean and Efficient and Rapid as 4 Had should be Pretty Simple for them. So Hopefully those New UI Team Members will look at what made the Menu’s in FM4 so good and Replicate them, and, hopefully, make them even Swifter by Optimising them for the Higher Processing Power available to a One (let alone a Series X) in Comparison to an Xbox 360.

Car Gifting is one Community Feature that can never Return due to the British Gambling Act basically Prohibiting that Features Return. But the others Should be able to Return.

Private Lobbies can be Featured if the Servers allow for it, so they might be available on all Systems, or they might be Exclusive to the PC Version via Private Servers, it depends if the Official Servers can be coaxed into Supporting that Feature again.

Fujimi Kaido was Dropped because the Xbox One really Struggled with the Track and had Severe Frame Rate issues on that Course, so if it Does Return to FM8, it might be “Locked” on the Xbox One’s and only available on Series X/PC, or the Game will run that Track at “Medium” Settings rather than “High” on “Non X” One’s to give the System a Chance to Run the Course Properly. Hopefully it Returns to Please its Many Fans, but if the Hardware Limitations on Xbox One make that an Impossibility, then, well, there is not a lot that anyone can do about it.

Car List, as always, is dependant on Licencing as there are companies in 4 that have since gone Bankrupt, such as Joss, and the Licence is no longer Available, or its Unknown where the Licence Resides, Ie, does the Licence for the Gumpert Apollo, as Example, lie with Gumpert Aiways or with Apollo Automotive? , refuse to even Pick up the Phone to Turn 10 due to Perceived Insult (Cough, DMC Texas, Cough), wont licence to Games that have any sort of Connection to “Top Gear” (Spyker), or wont Licence to Racing Games anymore, Period! (Hello Tesla), and whether or not Turn 10 can 1. Find a Car to Laser Scan and Photograph for Modelling in the first Place, and 2, as they have confirmed the Audio Recording is going in House, if they can ship them to Laguna Seca or The Giants (the 2 Nearest Race Tracks to Seattle) to Record their Engines. So who knows what they will be able to Licence, Model, and Record.

Fujimi kaido only appeared in FM5 on the xone gen, no wonder it was laggy because the whole game was rushed and bad and clearly the devs had no experience with the xone yet, i doubt a FM5 will happen again as it was a result of bad leadership and was still in the…ugh kinect era before phil spencer came, also elaborate on the in-house audio recording, forza needs to sound good again as FH4/FM7 dropped the quality hard because of the loss of the contract sound team, i mean yeah spyker and apollo is gone, but i want the saleen mustangs and regular cars back too, some of which were on the FH4 leaked car list which has way too many cars for fh4 to include in the next year or even 2 (also joss JT1 is in it), so my guess some are for FM8 too (because a lot are #number race cars, interestingly a lot of rally ones)

Indeed, FM5 was an absolute Stinker, Suffering from clear Mismanagement (Just like FM7 at launch, its why I consider the Launch FM7 another FM5, its why I didn’t buy it until literally the other week when it was £30 in a sale, because, now all the Cars are in the Autoshow, even the Forza Editions, as the Game has gone EOL, I know I will enjoy it more than FH4) It was extremely Rushed, and the Devs lack of Experience with the “One” Really stood out!

Indeed, I hope that there is never another Game as bad as FM5, as Turn 10 just cannot afford it, Especially not in the Wake of FM7 and FH4, as they have lost the Trust and Respect of the Community, the Game is going to live or Die on its Merits, so if its another FM5, its going to Belly Flop and Hard, and chances are MS will just Shut them Down. FM8 needs to be another FM6 at the very least, in order for Forza, and Turn 10, to Survive.

Indeed, as Much as I Dislike Phil for His Obsession to make Everything “Multiplayer Focussed” , making Everything “Live Services” (ugh! the Government needs to Outlaw that as well IMO, You sell the Game Complete or You Don’t Sell it At All in the UK! , that’s My View!) and Failing to Kerb the Growth of Wall Street Greed within Micro$haft, I have to give Him His Due, He basically Saved the Xbox One from total Disaster by getting rid of the “Always Online” Policy that would have left the System a “Brick” if the internet ever went down, which it Frequently Does, and getting rid of the Kinekt, a Badly made and Malfunctioning Gimmick that made MS look like a “Cheap Clone” of Nintendolt, and gave the Xbox One a chance of actually… Selling…by focussing on Games rather than Gimmicks.

I cannot Elaborate Much, Turn 10 have only really Announced that they are taking the Audio back in House, I do not even know if they are going to use Laguna Seca and The Giants, I just Guessed at those Tracks as they are the Closest ones to Seattle, and they are the Tracks they used to use when they Still had the Contract Sound Team before they upped and Quit to work for, IIRC, Codemasters. Indeed, the Audio, which was Outsourced to an English Company, was ABYSMAL in FM8 and FH4, with a Terrible Audio Middleware Engine that Muffles most of the Sounds, Incorrect Sound Sourcing due to half the Cars being Impossible to Find in the UK and a fair chunk of the Recording Sessions they had planned literally being Rained Off!, and the use of really Poor Quality Mikes!

With Series X capable of Running up to 8K, and Samsung, the only Company that Currently makes a “High Frame Rate” 8K TV, Recommending a 17.1.4 Dolby Atmos Soundbar from Harmon Kardon, a Soundbar that is THX Certified meaning it has IMAX Level Sound Clarity and Volume (The Highest that is Commercially available in fact) it is Vital that FM8 has superb Engine Sounds, as Poor Sounds will be picked up and Exposed by that Kind of Soundbar within Milliseconds.

Fortunately, Good Audio is easy Enough, by being in the US, Turn 10 will have access to the US Car Collectors Scene, and Remember, Turn 10’s New Head is a Personal Friend of none other than Jay Leno, and Mr Leno seems to know Everyone in America who has a Cool and Unusual Car, that will allow them to Source all the Cars in the Game with Minimal Issues. All they need to do then is just use Really High Quality Mikes (I recommend using the Shure TX4590 Boom Mike, as that is what Codemasters and Slightly Mad Studios, both companies Renowned for Great sounding Cars in their Games, Use) and then using Crankcase Audio’s “REV” Middleware, given that is the Middleware that was used in, among others, Mad Max, GRiD 2019, NFFS Heat from the Copz, Project Cars 2 and F1 2019, all Games that are well known for having Phenomenal Car Sounds. So if Turn 10 can follow that Path, the Engine sounds in FM8 and FH5 should be Incredible!

The Gumpert Apollo doesn’t need to be gone Forever, all Turn 10 has to do is put their Legal Time onto finding out if the Licence belongs to Gumpert Aiways or Apollo Automotive, and then Re-Licence it.

Same with Spyker, Spyker is Fine with Appearing in Games that do not have Tie ins with Top Gear, its why One is in The Crew 2. So all Turn 10 needs to do to get Spyker is Drop the Flop Gear Tie in, and I Personally want them to, because between their Horrific Bullying of the Morris Marina Owners Club, Terrible Show Format of 2 Middle Aged Morons and an actual Proper Car Reviewer (“Monkey” Harris) who Seriously needs to Recover His Senses and Go back Home to EVO Magazine and Fast before He is made to look a Complete Male Chicken, Messing around in Comedy Sketches, making the UK look Bad in the Eyes of the World with their Lager Lout Behaviour, acting like Schoolboys, and Occasionally doing something with yet another Generic Super or Hyper Car., Flop Gear makes the UK look Bad, and it makes The Car Enthusiast look Bad, it is, IMO, Sales and Licencing Poison and should be Dropped in Favour of a Tie in with Fifth Gear, EVO Magazine, GoodWood Road and Race Club, or other “Thinking Petrol Heads” Media of Choice instead. This would Re-open the Spyker Licence, and, by Extension, the NEVS/Saab Licence with it!, as well as Attracting an Older, more Discerning Audience back to the Forza Series.

I wouldn’t mind the Saleen Mustangs Coming back, as I would love to see an S281 (2003) S381 Extreme (2008) and SR Widebody (1997) In the Forza Car list One Day. I wouldn’t really want the Regular Cars back However, as I feel that for Every Toyota Yaris (note, they can add the Yaris GRMN and the GR Yaris, as both are basically little Short of a Full Blown Resurrection of the “Group A Homologation Special”, Tommorow! as I Really want to see those Cars added into some Games!) or Vauxhall Adam in the Game, a Space has been Lost for something really Unusual and Interesting such as the Marcos TSO, or the Isdera Commendatore 112i that I have not seen in a Game since NFSII-SE back in '97. I want to see some more Unusual and Interesting Cars that only the Real Petrol Head Cognoscenti know about coming into Forza, as Cars like that are what makes being a Car Enthusiast so Exciting! Learning about something 90% of the Rest of the Worlds Population have never even Heard of!

Indeed, Some of that Leaked List is clearly for FM8, and Indeed, the Number of Rally Cars is very Interesting, Especially given a Number of Turn 10’s New Hires are Ex Codemasters and used to work on the Colin McCrae Rally and DiRT Games, Could FM8 be getting Proper “Stage” Rallies? that would be absolutely Awesome, Especially if they have some of the Big 60-70KM Stages of the “Group A” Era on the List!

Honestly id trade the top gear circuit for spyker, they could instead get the grand tour test circuit or literally any other ones, TG test track is getting stale now anyway, anyway i really hope youre right, especially on audio, if FM8 had comparable or better features than FM4 then i think 4 will be beaten in the best forza contest

I would make the Same Trade as well, as Spyker is far more Interesting than anything Related to Modern Flop Gear , However, given Spyker’s Issues with Flop Gear date back to the Clarkson May and Hammond Era, I doubt they would Licence if The Grand Bore was Featured in the Game instead of Flop Gear.

However, a Tie in With EVO Magazine would grant Access to two rather Special Courses, the Bedford Autodrome, where the Magazine is based, and which has not been Officially seen in a Game since TOCA Race Driver 3 on PC, Original Xbox and PS2 if I Recall Correctly, and is a much Longer (4.2 Miles in “Full GP Loop” Form) and more Technical Track than TG, which, indeed, is getting rather Stale now the “Gimmick” of “Being the Stig” has worn off, but also opens up Blyton Park, which EVO helped to Design, a Track that not only has never Officially appeared in a Console Racing Game before (it has appeared Unofficially in a Few on the PC however via…AHEM… “Free Third Party Add-On Content”…), but also, unlike every other Track in the UK, which have Noise Limits of 98 DB Drive Bye and 102 DB Static, Blyton Park has NO Noise Limits, meaning it is the One Track in the UK, other than the GoodWood Hill Climb during the Festival of Speed (which, IIRC, is currently under an Exclusive to Gran Turismo so cannot come to FM8 Sadly) , where the Pagani Zonda R can be Used in Real Life, making Blyton Park Very Interesting to Me indeed.

As Stated, it is Vital that FM8 gets its Audio Correct, because that Harmon Kardon Soundbar that Samsung Recommends , or, heck, any THX certified Sound System, of which there are a lot on the PC Market, including the Old, but still Undefeated, and absolutely Legendary, Logitech Z906 5.1 System, will show up a poor Sound within Seconds! So the Audio needs to be absolutely Spot on for that Soundbar or Top end PC Audio. If the Sound is anything less than “Audiophile” Grade, Turn 10 are going to have Problems from the Community that they just cannot afford, so it is Vital they get it Right.

Hopefully, the New Ex Codemasters Personnel, via their Familiarity with the “REV” Audio Middleware and the Shure TX4590 Mikes, will make sure the Game follows the Audio Path that I Recommended, especially given that I based it on Codemasters own Audio Path!

Indeed, FM4 has been King for too Long, FM8 really does need to Try and topple It off the Throne, if, of course, it Is actually Possible to do so with Todays Development Staff.

Theres plenty different car magazine test tracks but i highly doubt top gear will go away, nobody asked for its removal so its very very unlikely, i would like it to go away for good, the tracks isnt even all that great or interesting, the test track airfield in FM7 pretty much replaced TG track, but wait, didnt FM4 have TG track and spyker? I know 4 had both

Im interested whether FM8 will be featured or atleast mentioned on next weeks game stack (MSs replacement of GDC) im impatient and i NEED to know something more about it, atleast 1 screenshot or art work would do

Tokyo, Japan and please add sound tuning to forza horizon 5 please?

I’d like to see the devs jump to another level. Perhaps have an inter-continental map using places they’ve not done so far. Take a country from Africa, a large portaion of Antarctica, a country or two from Asia and find a way to merge them together. Perhaps large and long bridge gapes, cleverly blended environments.
The idea of which would give a diversity for driving styles which will mean that some races will require an adaptation to the players’ driving. If you have a race that starts in the Africa part it could then go into the Anrarctica part to finish.
The experimentation with weather would be an interesting feature to it. There could be massive blizzards from the Arctic region which, to some extent, finds its way around the map. Severe rain storms that spread across everywhere. Sand dune racing in Africa that, during the race, becomes snow dune racing.

I’d love to see the next game to take place in the Pacific Northwest!

With the capabilities of the new generation, they can make a bigger map, so I suggest it be in the Pacific Northwest, and it spans from Washington State to British Columbia. And either Seattle or Vancouver to be the hub area. or both, why not  -flex those teraflops :muscle:t4:

First, because I think it is a beautiful region and offers varied weather and terrain.
Second, a tribute to Microsoft which is based in Washington.

and the cover car should be the Tuatara from SSC (which is also based in Washington).

PG wont make america again, they even refuse to go there to take photo references because its a “generic location” thats been repeated in games multiple times, FH is about countries games didnt do much

It should be Germany for its great love for the world of motor and its great brands and landscapes without forgetting its highways should be many kms and nürburgring where they could put the outskirts and the circuit to take photos and ride around as accessories for vw audi bmw … so to see them and many more details, it would undoubtedly be the best location for Forza Horizon 5, a great country and automobile culture in Germany… And add gti mk5 gti 30 aniv and new cars and compacts the truth and vag group parts since it is a great country and would be an incredible map and add nürburgring

I would love to see Forza horizon 5 in California, both northern and Southern California. Places like San Francisco and the beaches of Southern California would make the coastal area. There are long highways, mountains, wide roads, amazing spots for off-road, and I think it would just be a perfect setting. Big cities like Los Angeles can be the center of the map and the festival site can be in San Francisco or anywhere else. I personally believe California is the best option when it comes to the overall gameplay experience, and it will look absolutely amazing in general. I’ve had my hopes up since Forza Horizon 1 that the game will take place in California hopefully that will be the case for Forza Horizon 5

I do not wish to break Bad News to You, but as Far Back as Horizon 2, Playground Games Stated they have no Desire to ever Set another Horizon Game in the United States, and most Certainly not in California, as they Feel California, as it has been done to Death by Rival Games, along with the United States Itself, has become too Generic, Predictable and Boring for Words, and as a result, is of No Interest to them as a Developer, as they want to go to Places that no other Game has been.

As Far as I am aware, they have not changed that Stance over the Years, and America is still a “No Go” for them due to it being, in their Opinion, Too Generic and of No Interest to the Majority of the Gaming Public who are sick of the Location because every other Game is doing it.

Can you tell me when and where they said that? Like where you found this information because I can’t find it anywhere.

Definitely Japan. It has such a rich car and racing history. It’s also just a beautiful country. They could use the country side for offroad and the city’s for street racing. They could also focus more on street racing.

I really would just like something with a metropolis feel but also a countryside for offroad and cross country.

NoleyMomkey113.

As I have said Many Times, Japan would cause severe Licencing Issues that would Decimate the Games Car List if its Car Culture was done any sort Justice as the European Car Companies have become Hostile to Car Customisation and illegal Street Racing in Video Games!

However, Japan would also result in an Unmitigated Sales Disaster if they just made the “Japan in Name Only” (as the Car Culture would be Ignored) that the European Car Brands would Demand under their Licence Deals, due to anger both on Behalf of Gamers who want Japan for its Car Culture as they would feel that Playground was “Having a Laugh at their Expense” or “Failing to Listen to them” with a “Japan in Name Only”, but also from Gamers who don’t want the Series to go anywhere near Japan at any Point and would be absolutely apoplectic over a “Japan in Name only” being used instead of Norway, Canada, Germany, or other such more Desirable Location to those Individuals, one of Which just happens to be Me!

Using Japan as the Location would be a Lose Lose Situation right now due to Extreme Hostility from European Car Brands to Customisation and Street Racing in Racing Games, so Japans chances have, IMO, Dropped to Flat 0. Please Accept that and Move on.

The most Likely Location, IMO, going on the Game still needing to work on the Extremely Limited, Underpowered and Outdated Xbox One base Hardware, meaning the Location needs to be pretty Flat and Visually Undemanding, the need for a Location that will cause Minimal Licencing Issues with Car Companies, has a Good amount of Automotive History, and Playground probably wanting to Re-use the Aurora Borealis effect from Fortune Island, is actually Canada!

Fortunately, Canada offers that Exact Mix of Countryside and Urban (but with the Main Emphasis on Countryside as Cities are Generic and Undesirable to Playgrounds staff and they also overwhelm the Base Xbox One Hardware unless they are kept Very Small due to its rather Underwhelming levels of SD-RAM, which means the whole Map needs to Fit into only 2GB of Data Space, meaning Vertices, which are used to Render Buildings, need to be kept to a Minimum! ) Environments that You Seek.

They should mix different states in America and they should have more visual changes on car and add it so you can put a car on bags or hydraulics

LatestTrout6230. Sorry. Playground said as far back as Horizon 2 that they consider America boring and Generic because it has been done to death by Rival Games, and they have no Desire to do the US Again as a Result. Also, Bags and Hydraulics cannot happen as it would cause Multiple Brands to Remove their Licences as they do not want to Be Associated with Games that contain that Kind of Customisation.
