Where are the economy cars?

,

i’m not talking about gimmick cars, i’m talking like your everday common car, slap a new engine in it, boom its in the race

did license agreements include things like " us @ ford/chevy/nissan…etc… don’t want people to see images of a 96’ neo geo ahead of their new 2023 model, devaluing it." kind of thing??..

half of the multiplayer races are with cars that are designed to be racing…thats boring, i like to race “my creations” not “theirs”

the other half of multiplayer races are limited to one car, and two open class races…now i love the open class races…because…they let you choose the cars in the game…

right now its painful because, its only x class and e classes right now, so yeah based on my preferences i only have one option for multiplayer, its either slow, or light speed?..and there is a limited variety in the E class as is…so right now that just leaves me with a few choice of cars. with the already lacking in car variety

…why isn’t multiplayer structured by tracks first, that way players can play on the tracks they want…whats the point in having the options to have 500 laps with bots, when the AI is souless, no “production value” to the racing “event” exists…atleast its nice we get a podium scene… i mean i would love to see a higher player count on the brickyard speedway, but 24 is awesome as is  … i don’t have 24 forza buddies, so i can’t create a 250 lap race with the whole racing scene involved, everything from tires, to fuel, time, laps left, position…those elements SHINE GOLD …sadly there aren’t any “go to” places to have those “nascar” themed racing events (thats OPEN)

i’m sorry this is long, and frankly hard to read post…

! oh!! why don’t our odometers work? i should be remembering correctly, but didn’t forza 1 have our odometers start at 0, and is saved for each car…while now all we get is a picture lol…like how can you, with all the other elements factored in, go so far to omit something that should matter… if we are “leveling up” our cars with “experience”, if i was to place importance on a car, one of the things that is seen, is the odometer with 2-3k miles on it…no thats not alot…but those are MY MILES, i earned those little pesky miles…now we look at this static picture with fake miles on it…

let me change gears a little…

i see budget cars as a project, something i can hop on, and begin to transform it into something thats “never been seen before” AND have it perform just as good if not better than the high performance models…

did they think we were going to think of the cars as like the guns in call of duty? jesus i know they did

i’m sorry if this post comes off as ranty, but i ignored the bad reviews, and now i’ve payed the price twice…

i got a great idea! (oh my gosh!) how about…we consolidate horizon and forza!..just add the tracks in the game…and omg best forza ever! (i’m halfway joking of course…or am i? )

happy new years yall

Motorsport and Horizon is my dream game. Racing around Horizon like environments to get to your race shop to work on your project car or factory race car or daily driver racer. Then racing out to your favorite pro track to get in some racing. Or just grab a couple of quick Horizon races at some street or off road events. Or any other Horizon type event or car meet. The ultimate car culture game.

Well there’s the Dodge Dart GT, the Nissan Sentra Nismo, and the… Um…

There’s a couple, but nowhere near the scope of previous installments like FM3 and FM4. I also really want to see some more bargain-bin cars in the game, stuff like not-quite-hot hatches and economy cars. FH4 and FH5 already have plenty between them, I honestly wouldn’t mind if a Nissan Tsuru popped up in FM some day.

Also I miss all the normal cars. Cars like Audi A3, A4, 1.8 liter mk1 TT, BMW 320i, MB C 200, VW Bora and a 2-door VW Polo sedan, all the non-R/GR/WRX/STI Japanese cars and French cars like Renault Twingo, Peugeot 309, 405, 508, Citroen C2 and C4 coupe.

Speaking of French cars, where are all the cabriolet models like Peugeot 206 CC, 207 CC, 307 CC, 308 CC, Renault Megane CC mk1 & mk2? Affordable French cabriolets were pretty popular here in Europe but there’s zero French open top cars in the game. If you like affordable German cabriolets you’re still out of luck. No Opel Astra Twintop, Tigra Twintop, VW Golf cabriolet or VW Eos.

I really like the Porsche 911 (one of my favourite A / S / R class cars) but I would still rather see more of these affordable cars added in the game than a 169th version of the 911 or any other car which is already present in the game with multiple versions.

I still don’t understand people complaining that there are race cars in a racing game :unamused:

Just a personal opinion but i would prefer if race cars stay on game like ACC, for be more focus on the upgrade/tuning of your non-race cars.

Or for some race cars, it would be good to have that “race variant” as a body kit instead of having the race one + the road one, but maybe it’s impossible to do because they’re still 2 totally différents cars.

In fact, the problem isn’t race cars itself, but because we have too much race cars, we miss some road cars, and for a race cars game, i think you Can find better than FM

That’s not the complaint. The older Motorsport games had a good mix of race and road cars. Now they’re basically split between Horizon and Motorsport. Which means we can’t race normal cars on racetracks anymore.

All of the normal traffic sort of cars disappeared after FM4. The car list was cut back massively for FM5 with the transition to a new console. As they built it back up, they just never bothered to add the more “normal” cars back.

With this game it seems they cut almost everything that isn’t purely a sports car. Lower PI cars are almost all antiques, the newest E class car is the '94 Miata. I don’t see them adding any slower cars either, as the majority of the player base that cares about the new FOMO stuff is more interested in whatever shiny new hypercar is out.

I personally don’t care much about hypercars. I drive them only when I have to for the series or some other specific reason. Sports cars are nice though but even on those I usually go for cheaper / lower spec models if possible. No Hyperspeed Snorkelthrust 9000 Ultraturbo RSR RR RS GT for me I guess. Sometimes less is just more in my opinion.

I guess my thoughts don’t align very well with modern world view where it seems more is always better and everything still isn’t enough. Don’t get me wrong though, if someone enjoys the latest coolest most powerful hypercar in the world, good for them, I’m happy that they are happy. It’s just not for me.

 well said!

Tbh I’m right there with you. I greatly prefer to feel like I’m absolutely wringing the neck of a lower-powered touring car or hatchback, rather than barely scratching the surface of the capability of the latest mega ultra super hypercar.

Same for me, I have a lot more fun driving some B class sedan at its limit than trying to control some 1000 hp monster. We’re in the minority though. For the general player base, especially the Gamepass crowd, faster is better even if they can’t keep it on the track. I would love to see stuff like a Honda Accord or Ford Fusion, but we’re not the target audience anymore.

Not gonna lie. My main group for racing in any game is gt3 and gt4 with some LMP. But other than that I much prefer to drive something slower…bmw m3, supra, mx2, x240 etc.i would live to see in forza and gt7 something like megane mk1 coupe. Other late 90’ esrly 2000’ would be nice as well.

Idk maybe my age is showing but I’d rater drive something like that with minimum upgrades, maybe even sports softs only than new rimac.

why i wish they would add Ebisu, like the entire ebisu, into motorsports. have all 5 courses available to race and drive to each one. options of touge, drift and circuit racing all in one

 i’m happy there are those with similar tastes

thats somewhat part of what made forza, and GT different from typical racing games, was that they had regular cars you could drive! …sure its labeled as simulation thats different, but not the only…

yeah i think ppl like me, were a niche even back then

Something I’ve heard a lot, and something I agree with: it’s more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow. You can’t exploit the full speed of most hypercars in the game, except on a handful of tracks, but you can slap wings and race tyres on a Clio V6 and make it fly anywhere.

And every time I see a new Audi RSwhatever that looks like every other Audi already in the game being added, I can’t help but think about the lack of Fiat 500s, Citroëns, or quirky Japanese cars.

That thing is glorious :joy: talking about weird Japanese cars :joy:

I already have it but can vote your you guys

I’m so bored and tired of Audi in Forza. Please just leave Audi out of the game.

And the sad part is; I saw an Audi S7 Sportback in town the other day. The one in Forza doesn’t look like the real one. The real one is a hot looking “sporty” looking cars. The kind of car that makes you say “wow” when you see it. The one in the game looks like the family thrukster in national lampoon’s Vacation. Ok, not that bad, but it doesn’t look like the real S7 Sportback.

Same for BMW. When will we get the new M440 BMW? That’s a hot looking car. And if we do, will it look right?

I guess “economy cars” as a definition is a bit more fluid in 2024. There are a large amount of hot hatches in game, and if older economy cars are your thing there’s the SR-5 Toyota Corola and RX-3 Mazda. Miatas are still considered economy, aren’t they? Old British sports were economical in their day (until the wiring started a small fire and you had to park it).

What truly is a modern economical car? Camry? (just no, at over 40k out the door, far from economical). Sentra? Just a shadow of it’s former self (SE-R). Integra? A Type R in sheep’s clothing (which we already have in the modern Civic).

If I want to drive a “slow” car fast, I usually just dip into the British sports cars and build an E or D class MGB GT or the Healy 3000.

GT7 has some Kei cars, but after a few laps of constant throttle around a track, they get tiresome.
