So I just finished my multiplayer qualifiers and it said more would open up but im only seeing like 5 different lobbies for multiplayer. They are all the ranked ones with the long 30 minute practices. That’s great and all but was wanting to jump into some casual lobbies. I don’t see any of the A B C lobbies and such, just an R class “ranked” one that’s on rotation. How do we find the other lobbies, or is this all there is?
That’s all there is and I think it’s a good thing.
Oh yikes, alright. Sucks for when you just want to race with your buds some quick races. Took me well over an hour to do 3 races . I enjoy competitive racing a lot, but need some chill racing too. Would love to utilize some tunes as well. Oh well, thanks.
Exactly this.
I miss open track days.
They were always well popualted so why drop them?
Not like anyone ever used the Class Hoppers… /sarcasm
The practice and qual are far better.
But the actual limited amount and what there is broken or poorly thought out.
Yeah i like them for a few races a day if I have a lot of time, but they are a bit long when you want to jump on and just relax, especially with them also being ranked. Sometimes a man just wants to race without worrying about rating and sitting in practice for 30 minutes, lol. The races I’ve done I’ve had 10-15 minutes left after practicing and qual, just waiting around in the lobby for the race to start.
Also dissapointed that it looks like there are no generic Class lobbies. Me and a lot of Forza players really enjoyed creating builds for the different classes and taking them online, shame it looks like we can’t do that anymore unless we get lucky and the class we want to race happens to be up.
I feel like they copied GT a little too much by limiting the types of races available to such a degree and have kinda removed some of what made Forza stand out.
Agree, though I think practice is too long. It should be shorter and scaled according to race length.
There’s no point practicing for 15 minutes when the race is only 8 or 9 minutes. Similarly, for the longer races, practice is set at ~20-25 minutes for race that barely lasts longer than that.
I think GT Sport/7 have a more efficient approach which leaves each driver to qualify on their own and only offers a quick warm-up before the race.
Problem is that they seem to have one race on cycle.
They should at least have 3 going staggered. Per hopper. So if one race finished and goes back to 30 mins practice. Another one should be down to 6 mins.
So when you finish a race you can just select the hopper with with most amount of practice time avail or the least.
Eg giving you a choice. Now people might flood to the least amount of time. Or they may not.
But agree they should just have a few hoppers available with short rolling 3 lap races with no practice and qualifying.
Leaving practice and qualifying for the med to long races.
Ya I agree man I’m bummed out right now there’s no reason why they would have taken those out it’s just crazy, each class always had players in it and they are so much fun, creating tunes and going at it against people doing the same for class specific races. Hopefully it’s going to be added in on the drop cause that’s messed up.
Private multiplayer is not a viable option, as nobody would know about the race. If they allowed people to find your “hopper” that would work.
In Forza 7 all I played was C-class touring car hoppers. I started with collision disabled and moved up to collisions enabled. Without these low tier hoppers I have no desire to play the game.
They should add a permanent C-class open play for people new to driving games and multiplayer.
I am also deeply disappointed with the lack of multiplayrer lobbies. FM7 had too many of them to my taste, but this release has too few. As a middle aged gamer I’d enjoy less intense racing in lower class cars as B, C or even in D. Those hopper lobbies were far from empty in FM7 as far as I remember, and no less fun.
Do you think something like that could be added later?
P.S. some practice sessions could be shorter as well. Online racing isn’t the place for learning the tracks. For that you have career mode or rivals. When you know the track or you don’t bother to qualify, long wait is just a waste of time.
Since weather is never the same i always use all the time in practice to make my strategy with tyres…
Yep - My expectation was that they wouldn’t open up to class based online races for a while. Either I’m deluded but I would have though most people gravitate toward tuned class based racing over time? If they leave it out completely I’ll probably ditch the game after a few weeks. Seems weird that you can go to the trouble of upping your car level to upgrade parts etc but then not actually be able to use that upgraded car in an online race! Unless I’m missing something.
Definitely not hitting any sweet spot, FM7 too many, FM too few.
I get the idea, limiting the number of options so far has almost guaranteed me a full lobby each time.
Within time they will launch more options. Hopefully not as many as FM7 though.
this is not a good thing at all lmao
I’m a 4809 rating and i’m bored of this game already. we have 4 series with 8 tracks total and maybe 15 cars we can use this is an absolute nightmare of a multiplayer experience especially bc the matchmaking system allows rammers with 0 experience drive in higher lobbies based off 1 race
Well it’s not. It’s a bad thing actually.
