Stick with the controller. I have a Fanatec wheel I use for other games, but I use the controller for Forza as I feel it works better with Forza than the wheel does.
I think you can get the ThrustMaster TX for around $300ish. That’s alot of bang for you buck. Works well with plenty of other games. I find it’s fun to use it in FH4. Works well in FM7 too. The TMX is a little less. Also a good wheel for under $200. Be warned, you will need to adjust and tinker with wheel settings in any game you play but especially with either Forza game. Once dialed in they are pretty awesome though.
Spent some money on a thrustmaster tmx wheel and open wheeler seat. I’d always used a wheel on PS3 with Gran Turismo and need for speed on the PS3.
Got the x1s and had a hard time adjusting to controller, figured the wheel was the way to go. Wish I’d have saved my money. Ended up learning to master the controller and hardly ever try out the wheel(only sometimes in fm7). Can’t imagine using a wheel in a horizon game, but I know one old dude that does, cause he’s stubborn bout using a controller(although he ‘claims’ his hands hurt when using a controller). Personally, I think he just likes turning the wheel making cars sounds while wearing his helmet and chewing on crayons.
I agree with CRracer 912 100 %. I purchased a racing seat and a G920 wheel only to b spending more time trying to get the wheel to work with FH4 then I did playing the darn game. Finally gave up and it’s now sitting in the corner of my game room collecting dust. I thought it would be faster to learn the controller and actually play the game. Once you get use to the controller it’s not bad at all. I would say to save your money and use the controller. Good luck.
