Wheel users... Bumps and curbs working for you?

I’ve been playing since early release and have made changes both in my fanatec wheel settings and game settings, but no matter what I do, when I hit curbs or bumps they don’t grab the wheel at all like they should. In fact I can’t tell that they’re doing anything. I do get some slight vibration in the wheel but they should be pulling the wheel out of my hand when I run over big curbs and they’re not doing that at all. Wondering if other people are experiencing this or they found a solution. Thanks for your input.

You are not alone… : Force feedback effects ? (Thrustmaster TX on XSX)

One of the first videos I watched about the preview version mentioned this. The reviewer explicitly showed the lack of feedback on curbs and bumps, also making a comparison with other games and how they handled this matter. Unfortunatelly, I am experiencing the same with my Logitech G920 on Xbox Series X, doesn’t matter what changes I make on game and wheel settings, there is almost zero feeling of the curbs.

A continuation on details from me…

I do not have the same issue in Forza Motorsport 7 or Horizon 5 using the same equipment. Currently playing on PC and curbs and bumps are definitely grabbing the wheel and doing what they should in the other games. It seems in Forza Motorsport 23 it’s not sending that data to the wheel at all.

Turn the vibration setting to about 20-25 should fix this issue. I struggled for days trying to find the right settings for my T818. Its working fantastic now and really starting to enjoy playing the game.

Maybe it’s an issue with my model of wheelbase. I’m using a fanatec direct drive wheel. My vibration scale is currently at 50 and the vibration works, not great but it’s there. There is no grabbing of the wheel by curbs at all. I have tested it on multiple different cars I multiple different tracks going slow and fast and it doesn’t move the wheel at all.

To add to this… on wet tracks the puddles don’t grab the wheel whatsoever. Granted on the last game they were ridiculous how they would snap the wheel out of your hand for the smallest puddle. But at this point there’s no input to the wheel base when I go through a puddle or over a curb at all.

I have no vibrations on bumps at all with my T248…I tried lots of settings. I can feel bumps in FM7.

That’s what i use, and it works well, even bumps and curbs.

My take on G923 Wheel in FM 8 - Forza Motorsport / Forza Motorsport (2023) Discussion - Official Forza Community Forums

I have a Xbox X using a Thrustmaster TS-XW wheel and initially experienced the same issue with the failure of my Buttkicker 2’s to react to the curbing sound effects. I discovered that this happened because I had set the value of the “music” entry in the “audio” settings to zero. I had used this setting on both Forza 4 and 7 as I found the music to be distracting. On those titles, the buttkickers worked fine with the zero music volume setting. Reverting to the default “music” value of 100 in the Forza Motorsport 2023 audio settings allowed the vibrations to be felt on the curbing immediately! A simple fix for me. My 2 buttkickers are set to operate in conjunction with the right and left audio stream inputs.

Thanks for the input, but we’re discussing the feeling in the wheel. The curbs should grab and shake the wheel. Sound-wise I’ve no issues with curbs or other in race events.
