I’m driving with Fanatec CSL DD (8Nm). I tried around a lot, but i almost can’t feel ffb from curbs. When driving straight over curbs or the outer curbs give a little feedback, but the inner curbs are not to feel.
In contrast to that the sound when driving over curbs is loud and bumpy as ever. But it doesn’t match to the feeling.
I would like to increase curbs ffb (at least as wheel setting option).
I’m not driving with wheel since last week.
Got Microsoft FFB Wheel, Fanatec 911 Turno S, Thrustmaster TM, Fanatec CSL Elite and now Fanatec CSL DD. Played Forza 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 with them. Never used stock settings.
This is the first time i don’t get it the way i want.
Am also using a Fanatec setup but the clubsport 2.5 porsche wheel and full pedal set, shifter and handbrake… The settings out of the box are terrible and have spent days tweaking settings as well as downloading various recommendations from multiple youtubers…have improved it but its kind of like most everything else in this game its only 60%…Am kind of run out of patience with the Forza franchise of always releasing games that are just broken and having to persevere for months after release for fixes etc…
last Forza game I will purchase but for me its not so much all the stuff ups and broken stuff its the fact that I pay full tilt for a game on preorder and most of the game content is not available when I am offline…sorry but If I buy a game I expect a game on my pc regardless of being online or not…I do understand multiplayer not being available but all the other stuff singleplayer stuff thats not available to me is just a criminally dishonest move…so yea its my last… am over being treated like garbage by the companies that are responsible for this…
Anyone had any positive updates on this ? its very frustrating when Forza horizon 4 has better curb feeling than a 2023 release… I can feel front and back wheels entering the curb if its left or right… but when i want to race track on FM8 i feel like 10% of curbs… the audio makes it sound like the wheel on the curb is going crazy but the feel of the curb is just none existent… feeling the road/ track and physics is one of the most important aspects of improving your times… at the moment its like racing with off road tyres that are mostly flat… before anyone asks i have changed FFB settings and this basically increases other feelings or decreases it doesn’t change the fact most of the curbs and apex have 0 reflection on FFB. I dont get why they cnt get a real life driver to create the settings for FFB before releasing this… the default settings are like trying to steer the titanic if anyone has ever drove a car more than 1 mile can tell you the default settings feel NOTHING like driving a car. even with the tweaked settings i have at the moment it feels 60% legit… Some one please help i spend 850 GBP on my racing set up a few months ago in anticipation for this “built from ground up game” but in reality i have much more fun and realistic feelings on forza horizon…
These are maybe my 5th try settings. I was too lazy to write and keep old settings. Means the settings are still experimental. Also i’m a little bit special with my settings, because i drove mainly Forza with wheels.
Playing on XBox. Fanatec CSL DD (8Nm) + P1 + CSP v3
After turning the game on and taking a car across some curbs, I see what you mean. There is an effect, but it’s a very faint tug on the wheel and the generic the vibration is on. This generic vibration I refer to is the same rumble you’d get from road texture. It seems that there is no notable effect for curbs.
For myself, I ignored the lack of rumble when encountering the curbs. The issue I had with curbs in Forza was how they would upset the car if I touched some of them. The curbs at Kyalami for example are some of the worst offenders in the game. If I wasn’t prepared to instantly counter steer on some of them, it was an instant loss of control if I touched them.
In general, I get most of my rumble from the audio in FM23. My subwoofer sends some vibration though me. The stuff coming through the wheel is mostly telling me how the tires are gripping. And even that is kind of vague because the FFB would clip if it raised it too high.
I am running an 8Nm CSL DD on PC.
Edit… My sub is under my desk and when it fires, the port is pointing across my feet. My wheel stand does not carry any bass frequencies I can notice. My desk reacts way more than the stand… But wood does that. Sorry about saying it was through my stand.
You can maximize that, by changing the subwoofer speaker with a bass shaker. This is a speaker without membrane. Those bass shakers only put out vibration, and (almost) no sound.
But when you are playing on PC anyway, you could try out SimHub. This application takes Forzas telemetry, and convert it into frequencies for the bass shaker. You need a additional sound card and speaker + amplifier.
Not going to lie, that is on the list. I already know where I’d mount the transducer, and I’m eyeing the parts and wires needed for a simple one transducer setup. I just got to get new pedals first. Waiting to see what the Podium pedals will cost.
