Wheel Support (FFB)

Thrustmaster and Fanatec low-end? Sure they’re not as good as the Accuforce but low-end? Really? Wheels without force feedback etc. are low-end wheels. I would call Thrustmasters wheels mid-end wheels and Fanatecs wheels mid/high end wheels compared to the Accuforce.

I want to know this too. Am I able to use my G27 or even G25 for that matter on PC? I’m not planning to buy new wheel until GT Sport and it’s kinda deal breaker if at least G27 doesn’t work. I’m not going to buy wheel supported on Xbox One, because I don’t even own the console and if I did I still wouldn’t. Gran Turismo is dearest to me and I buy wheels that’ll work on PlayStation and PC. That alone is stupid that same wheel can’t work on both consoles. But anyway I really want to have official confirmed list of supported wheels before I buy and that list better be somewhere on launch day.

The new input introduced with the latest Win10 update supports all the good wheels. G27, G29, Thrustmaster T300 and T500 and many more. So “IF” Turn 10 wants to support these wheels, its already supported in Win 10.

I have a ps4 and a g 29 racing wheel too, and i wonder if horizon 3 will have support for the g 29.

So they do have wheel support ready, but I haven’t got a reply back from the boss yet. Hopefully we will get a full list of officially supported wheels. If worse comes to worse we’ll just have to stick to the ones that are compatible with both platforms. The way I look at is, I’m just grateful we FINALLY have a Forza title on PC. I’ve been waiting 10 years for this, so if the worst thing I have to worry about is playing with a xbone or 360 controller, then I have absolutely nothing to complain about. But ya, multiple wheel compatibility is a GOOD thing!

Most likely same old Turn 10. I would even bet money on it.

So Ralph replied to my tweet and he said, DRUUUUUUUUMROLL…Soon…

Okay, i guess that means we will get a list of the wheels compatible with FH3 before the release. I´m so excited about this game so if my Logitech G29 or Thustmaster Ferrari 458 Italia doesn´t get supported i will be disappointed!

I play on xbox, So wheel support for me shouldn’t be an issue, However my pc friend got a Logitech g920 racing wheel in anticipation for this game, and future pc titles. I’m really hoping that the g920 is on that list, and if not, Playground Games, please add it! He just got it, and has been struggling to find games that it works for, and that he is willing to buy :/. Anyway, super hyped about Horizon 3, should be amazing!

Will def be allowed as this is one of the newest wheels that is compatible with xbox.

He is right, thrustmaster/logitech i would consider low end, and fanatec mid grade when you compare to what is out there. Most people that are in the console world dont realize what else is out there because the consoles restrict it. High end would be things like bodnar, osw, accuforce, frex, hpp, dsd etc.

Have you played anything that has proper ffb?

Dont be mean now lol

PC players huh? Thanks Playground Games for lettings us down then. Xbox players don’t use wheels right?

Ooh they certainly do, but for Project CARS, Dirt Rally, F1 2016 and Assetto Corsa.

Let’s face it, the Forza franchise has the controller deep inside it’s genes and a wheel is an afterthought. Wheel support was sub par with FH5, FH2, FM6 so until I have the game in my hands and try it out myself on rig I don’t have any expectations and plan to play the game with my controller in the sofa on my main TV instead of on my racing cockpit.

I know they do. And I do know how other games do offer superb wheel support. I’m mentioning it because earlier on someone asked Ralph Fulton about it on Twitter and he replied info was coming ‘soon’. Seems the info only applies to PC users, which I think is stupid. Forza was born on console and whether or not wheel support has been shit in the past, I think they should at least provide us console users with support as well if they’re doing it for PC.

An “upcoming Story in the future” when talking about wheel support for PC players . when they say “in the future” that to me really doesnt sound like anytime soon .
Seeing as wheel support for Forza 6 apex was meant to be soon after it came out and we still dont have it…well just doesnt sound good does it !.

Turn 10 … will horizon 3 have any kind of wheel support on launch day ? YES or NO ?

+1 on that, getting narked off waiting for even a SNIFF of confirmation that Wheel support will be available at launch, Along with Custom resolutions and FULL crossfire/sli support.

IMO this sort of information SHOULD be covered in the system requirements info pre-launch, That way I will know if the early access is worth it, no point bothering if I can’t play on MY system the way I choose to.

I don’t want to turn half the PC off just to please Turn 10 (or any other games company) if they can’t be bothered to implement these “mature” features from day 1. I still think Turn 10, like so many other games companies, deliberately choose to ignore the high end PC players and force them to play a substandard partially completed game… What’s the reason for this???

If a Turn 10 Moderator can answer these queries I for one would be extremely grateful but, I’m not holding my breath and I’ve pre-ordered already so it BETTER work on MY rig or I will cry foul in the strongest terms about lack of support for these features during early access…

Moderators arent going to have an answer. This is why people shouldn’t preorder games so early.

I love how they used the word “story”. Does this question really need a whole story to answer it? Its pretty simple, will horizon 3 have wheel support yes or no? It will on xbox one at least. Next question, what wheels will be supported on pc? Then they answer with whatever list they have just like every other developer does.

I have a pretty strong feeling that the actual list of supported wheels is going to be quite a small list, probably as small as the xbox ones list ie only xbox one compatible wheels. I cant see them taking so long to answer this question unless it has an answer that will negatively effect preorders/sales of the game. Similiar to how when forza 5 was announced to have had hundred"s" of cars when it released with exactly 200 just allowing the s to be added to hundred.

Im not one to disrespect a developer (too much), but something sneaky is going on. Microsoft as well as turn 10 will spin any bit of info as a selling point. The fact that this hasnt been announced for horizon nor apex which has been out for months now leads me to believe somethings not right.

My G25 looks mint and works like day one when I bought it 9 years ago for 180€. Today’s wheels are ridiculously overpriced, not even a complete package, and I’m not going to invest into a xbone compatible wheel just for Horizon 3.

Even Need For Speed 2015 is compatible with my G25, so if Horizon isn’t, that would be ridiculous and an immediate refund request.

So please, can we have some clarity on the wheel compatibility?

So what’s the deal Devs? You said Fanatec support was coming late September. That’s basically this week. Can’t get any later than this week and still be September. Has the support for Fanatec wheels been rolled out or not?

Why the hell is it so hard to get an answer form these guys. It’s like they don’t even care.
