Any tips on preventing wheel spin at launch? Thanks.
All wheel drive.
Throttle control mainly. If it’s a drag build you can tune suspension to get more squat/weight transfer/grip. But for general/all round/race tunes wheelspin at launch is mostly throttle control. Imagine it’s a real car… squeeze the the throttle trigger like you’d depress an acceleration peddle; ie progressively not 100% throttle immediately.
Also keep in mind that tuning settings such as camber and tire pressure can help you at launch but can help you more and more often if tuned for corners, because most races have many corners but just one start; all depends what precisely you’re tuning for I guess.
Btw if you do decide to just AWD swap it, watch out for that understeer
Lenthen your first few gears. Lower rear tire pressure a bit if youre okay with hotter tires elsewhere. If you want a little more +.1 degrees camber on the rear.
Before you start instantly swapping out for AWD, look into working with the differential and the suspension settings. This should give you the desired result, not just at the start, but also maintaining grip coming off of sharp corners.
One thing to note. This is going to take some time to figure out since there is a balance you will need to find between handling and maintaining a higher speed. Wheel spin isn’t inherently “bad”. Not being able to control the car because of it, is.
