Annoying wheelspin with FWD (and RWD) cars in start of races!

Just at the title is written. In the starting grid in a race with my A class FWD cars (Integra, Civic), I can’t launch without making the wheels spin! Is there a technique to this (using Xbox one controller)? Or can I change some settings or something?

Any kind of help is appreciated, because it’s annoying to get overtaken in every start of every race in the online mode…

A class is a little too high but here are some tips.

  1. Focus the build on handling and grip. Race tyres for example.
  2. Do not overpower the car.
  3. If you have a race gearbox (not actually needed but if you have one) make 1st gear quite long and then the rest of the gears quite close.
  4. Try half to 3/4 throttle until launch.
  5. Soften the springs at the end of the drive wheels.

If you’re getting wheel spin you can lower the acceleration differential setting to help mitigate this but that’s really just a band aid.

To fix the problem, don’t just mash the throttle - it’s just like a car in real life - you can only apply so much throttle before wheelspin. Find where this is in terms of trigger pull and then pull the trigger down that much, let the car accelerate and once it’s moving apply more throttle as applicable.

I totally agree that the main thing to do here is to use throttle control.

I would recommend not lowering the accel diff for a few reasons. Firstly if you are on flat ground it should not kick in if accelerating in a straight line. Secondly if your car gets off the straight due to torque steer or a bump accel diff might actually help by letting the wheels spin. Thirdly it will hinder cornering.

I know some will be disgusted with my accel diff settings on FWD cars but lets just say there ain’t much room left at the end of the slider and I do not get wheel spin off the line.

Or if you’re like me you purposely spin the wheels off the line because it’s fun ;).
