What to do after builders cup?

What am I supposed to do after the builders cup?

I thought I’d maybe unlock some new career races after the builders cup, but no… it was a big disappointment.

I know there’s a new series every week, but it’s not enough. Now I’m left with a 100$ game that feels completely empty.

I’ve had my issues with this game, but was a day too late to get a refund cause xbox support played me. So the whole experience has been pretty disappointing

You have to create your own gameplay loop.

-Drive against AI
-Drive against yourself and others in rivals
-Drive against others in multiplayer
-Drive to upgrade the cars you want
-Level up 5 cars of each manufacturer to 50 for a permanent discount of 25%
-Create tunings and share them
-Create liveries (designs) and share them
-Or simply just earn credits

I mean there isn’t much more that you can do in the game, you gotta figure out yourself how you want to spend your time in the game.

Race cars? The only difference will be there isnt some championship. My favorite way to do freeplay is set random track, time of day, and weather, make it a timed race and set a roll off delay of 1-3 seconds.

This makes it so i dont just pass all AI at start and i spend the whole race cleanly overtaking

In Forza Motorsport 7 I would spend most of my time building, tuning, and painting cars, as well as participate in some organized racing leagues. Unfortunately, building cars is very time consuming at the moment, the livery editor is buggy, and the bigger organized racing leagues have left FM23, so… I’m just kinda waiting until update 6.0 to see what that brings.

Yep, not much to do really besides endless hot-lapping which in this game is quite boring. No soul, no passion, no heart.
Now, if we only had new tuning and upgrade options and content. That wouldv’e been a game within a game. Not the same old tired and uninspired Forza stuff from 20 years ago…
Basically, whatever you can do IRL, would be great to see in Forza. More upgrade options, more tuning options, more customization options…more…more…more. Do away with just “stages” and give us more flexibility with the components. Add to that a DYNO and you have plenty to tinker with till the cows come home…!

With regards to the racing, if the AI was competent and if the tracks themselves were realistic in that the surface would react to the given environment at the time, then perhaps hot-lapping wouldve been much more immersive and much more competitive and much more FUN!
At least then, after finishing the terrible single player mode, you can still have “fun” with the game despite the issues…

Builders cup will never end, each month there will be a new event, but in the meantime you can do:
1- start a freeplay race.
2- start a featured multi-player race. (Requires gamepass for console players)
3- take photos and share them in forum and in game
4- make some liveries for your cars
I recommend option 1 and 2…

I feel like the Forza games have always been much more engaging for players who are not just into cars & racing, but who also like to create - like photographers, painters, & tuners.

Plus, lots of players enjoy the competition of multiplayer racing and/or rivals leaderboard hot-lapping.

But yeah, for those who are only looking for single-player races against AI/NPC drivers, the game quickly runs out of gas.

Problem with that tho is it’s basically an open class you pick the vehicle in that class. What we want is some more or at least on par with the last installments single player campaign model that forces you to go outside of what you would usually choose, like the foxbody stang.

No need for intro videos just a picture of the car and 5 tracks selected for the round, rounds that stay and when you complete the entire first cup it unlocks a fresh lot like FM7 did.

Rounds you can select which you want to do first with a set target of points needed to progress… and every vehicle in the game is used or at least every division.

Waiting a month for 2 hours of play is not very entertaining

Load the Nürbergring and lap it.
What I’ve been doing (all previous titles) was lap Mugello.2 laps per car, write down the laptimes.
Now I with the Nurbergring I lap it too.But just the 1 lap.Try all the cars there are.
I write the times down (old fashioned).
Did so too with FM3 and FM4 and that kept me sane when I was trying to find a job abroad.
Just the lapping.
Because the AI is SHOITE so I won’t bother racing against AI.
Didn’t like the AI since FM7

You wait until the devs add another Cup. Something that should have been added at the release of the game. But since it’s a live service it will be every so many months??

So there are the boring things left to do… No, thanks.

If T10 only would integrate a good career mode with heart and passion after they’ve fixed the stupid AI and stop using FM 2023 as a live service game…

Still hoping that GT 7 will come for PC but honestly said then FM '23 will be dead for me.

I’ve never had one whit of an interest in Forza AI whatever the title, whatever the studio. They are just not good at that. I’ve clipped a few prize cars that I wanted but otherwise I haven’t even been motivated to finish the builders cup.

I think also drip feeding the tracks every month or so is just bad practice. This game should be just bustling with all the tracks they’ve scanned at
launch. Having to wait a month or two months for a fresh track is just a bit of a strain.

Driving against AI to level cars and wonder:
Yesterday I drove 12 rounds at Hockenheim against AI level 8.
On the eight lap I lapped the third guy. I quickly realized why: the AI is completely helpless on this track. Similar to Daytona, for example, there are sections that AI can`t manage. In Hockenheim it is the last corner before the start/finish. The AI crashes into the wall of the pit entrance. Every time there were two to five cars that crashed there.
I finished the race first, 56 seconds ahead. Also noticed:
The AI had racked up a lot of penalties. The second had over 8 seconds. Absolute joke, has anything been done to the AI?

I haven’t noticed this issue at said tracks. Have you tried upping the difficulty

Is there a higher difficulty than 8? (There isn’t obviously, just noting that some answers already exist)

It’s like the AI is drunk or something.

It’s the same on the Nordschleife.
The AI often piles up, drives off the track and is just extremely slow.
15 - 20 seconds per lap on difficulty 8.

See this is a problem when all the tracks aren’t in at release, you get issues with the A.I and the coding of the lines they take or whatever learning thing Turn10 says they are using, if it’s the latter it’s not working and neither is the former for that matter.

I personally feel that they have the tracks done already but to make it a GaaS they are holding back, just my opinion

There are how many car divisions? There could be a champ run for each division. Even FM7 missed a few of the divisions in the career series. They had a few repeats if I recall.

There could be so much more to this game. And I do believe, if it had been released with a better career series in the “so called” Builder’s Cup. Then the shortfalls of the game would have largely been overlooked. Even the lacking track of Nordschleife might have even been forgiven is the career mode encompassed the entire car divisions.

And the Open series could by set up;

1.) E, D, C, B, championship
2.) D, C, B, A, championship
3.) C, B, A, S, championship
4.) B, A, S, R, championship
5.) A, S, R, X, championship

Five championship series all with a reward at the end. And maybe the reward rotates between a series of set cars or credit rewards. So if you missed a car this month, it will come around again.

Yes I’ve. Noticed it on some tracks at lvl 8. Lime Rock and the short version of Yas and even Himestead but hadn’t noticed it as bad at Hiock.
