What QoL improvements does rivals need?

I haven’t done rivals in quite some time and figured I would set some times. Which made me think… Why can’t I see the placing I’m at after setting a good time. Why do I have to back out and remember what track I did then filter the boards just to see whether I hit top 10/100. Why can’t they just say congratulations you’re now #1?

Or why can’t I select my next opponent myself after completing rivals instead of the system picking the next rival for me?

Or why can’t I filter times by car?

Or why can’t I see a summary of all my times across all boards?

I understand why some of it is how it is but you have to go through too much just to get to the start line. And then again if you want to use a different car or tune.

I miss the option to only choose clean laps as opponents because I’m not interested in competing with wallriders

Change Car
See your position in the leaderboard afterwards.

The biggest improvements for me would being able to change rival or change car (in the same class, not so bothered about changing class) without having to all the way back out to free roam and step back through all the menu options just to get back to where I was

I agree. That would make a massive difference. Easily done as well - just give an option to return to the leaderboard at the end of the run. You can then see your new position and select a new rival and choose a new car.

Two things come tom mind:
Don’t prompt me if I want to keep lapping after I beat a ghost on an out-lap. It’s an out-lap. Of course I want to keep lapping.
You know how Motorsport automatically picks the next fastest ghost and target time, without having to quit out and restart? Can Horizon do that too?

If they imported the code from the FM leaderboards they would solve most problems. Simple information like date set, shared setup marker (with option to download) would be great.

Also… I don’t see why you can’t do a flying start from way back before the grid to save you doing 2 laps.

You can. Just reverse off the line.

I though the other guy started racing? If you reverse don’t they get a massive lead on you?

No. Your time doesn’t start until you cross the line.

Oh that’s good, so I can ignore the other car.

Only if you switch him off. He will start as you cross the line

No I’ve tried it before, and he pulled away so I gave up with the idea… or maybe I just turned around without reversing?

It’s only worth doing on very long laps.

It should be faster on any lap? Anyway easier if they just start us back a bit in the first place.

No. It only works on circuits, and your 2nd lap starts at race speed.

Okay…

I give up!
