What is your first car?

2015 porsche boxster spyder

Sorry, but I have to call you out.

Your first car was/is a 2015 Porsche Boxster and in the what do you drive thread the car you are driving currently is a 2015 Porsche Turbo? Did you buy the cars at the same time, a couple months apart, what is it?

My first car is the one I have now, a 2007 Saturn Ion, 5 speed manual, 2.2 L engine, 145 horsepower, fun little car to drive.

Bought the 911 1 months later

Wow, buying a new 2015 Porsche Boxster as your first car and then buying a 911 a few months later? Either mommy/daddy must be loaded or I smell BS.

You caught me, I’m a trust fund baby

No doubt your father will give you the Agera when you “come of age”.

hope that is soon

…I was trying to be polite. But since that cat is out of the bag, no matter how you look at it it’s stupid. Assuming everything is legitimate. Buying a car, ANY CAR, and then selling it a month later means you took a bath on depreciation. If you kept the Boxster, why not just buy the 911 at the same time? Most dealers would be quite happy to sell you two cars at once (meaning a better deal on the cars). Honestly not many people cross shop a 80K Boxster Spyder with a near 200K 911 Turbo S convertible! If you had the money for the Turbo why even look at the Boxster? The dealer wouldn’t let you test drive both?

And if this is all BS, why bother? The fun of a forum is people exchanging information and stories about cars. If I said my first car was a SR-71 with nothing else to add, who cares?

I’m not sure why you’re reprimanding me in the first place. The kid says on a smurf account he bought a new Boxster and a month later a 911, on another post he says his dad has a Koenigsegg Agera. Sounds a bit fishy, so I call him out on it. I don’t like people posting BS on a serious forum.

I wasn’t reprimanding you, I was agreeing with you. My only point when I said, “I was being polite” is simply that when I called BS I didn’t come right out and say it (I was being polite). However, since you came right out and said it I no longer felt the need to “be polite” so I agreed with you regarding the utter stupidity of the situation.

After reading my initial response “you” was not directed to you specifically. It was a “global” you.

Sorry, misunderstood you then.

Double post by mistake.

The boxster was a gift from my grandfather

Oh leave the kid alone, some people have money. Do be careful and responsible though, I know at 16 I would have killed myself for sure with a 911.

Back to the first car stories. The first I drove regularly was my fathers 1985 S10 pickup until I saved enough money to buy my first car, a 1990 Mustang LX 5.0. Managed to get a couple speeding tickets and a few “disturbing the peace” tickets for burnouts in parking lots. Had a lot of fun cruising the local highway, showing peeps in Japanese cars that they weren’t actually that fast. Of course this was near the beginning of “sport compact” popularity (way back before Altezza tail lights yo) and plenty of the nameplates that I dusted back then could now show that old Mustang their tail lights.

It lasted a little more than a year before I totalled it, not doing anything reckless, but stupid none-the-less. I was driving home one day, screwing with my radio and not watching the road, and when I looked up there was a nice large maple tree about 3 feet in front of my car. I didn’t even have time to turn or hit the brakes. I hit it dead center going about 25 mph. Mashed the engine back to the firewall, popped the airbag… Back to the S10 for 4 more years.

Now driving an 02 VW Golf TDI that I bought new and hope it lasts forever, does everything that I need a car to do. I get my kicks on 2 wheels these days.

My first car was a 2001 ford taurus 24v silver in color and previously been in two accidents both involving semi trucks slamming once in the front and in the back (owner kept car at semi truck parkin lot)
I got it for 300 bucks, owner wanted it gone
had coolant leaks in 3 areas
trans leak (trans cooler)
wrong type coolant
misfire in 4 cylinders (out of 6) it legit sprayed fuel out the exhaust, oil leaking from valve covers into spark plugs
alignment problems (to steer straight you had to turn the wheel to the right 90 degrees)
