road America is my favorite for several reasons, but mainly because of the balance of turns and straights it offers.
Just ran 15 laps on Mugello as I haven’t really raced that one much. In an Aston Martin GT12 and loved it. Tho I learned real quick on that 2 part of the turn at the top of the track that too tight and you eat the tires and too wide and you are in the kitty litter.
Real: Watkins Glen, Mungello and Nordshliefe. First one because of the awesome flow, second because it has just the right type of corners, plus a hefty straight. Last one, well… the Nurburgring is to a car enthusiast, what sugar is to Coke Cola. It’s simply two things that go together.
Fantasy: Dubai. Awesome scenery and flow. I do appreciate this new track very much in all its variants.
Most hated tracks:
Yas Marina and COTA. Just a bunch of turns put together with no sense of structure.
Silverstone: I don’t know… it’s just boring. This track never manages to win me in any racing game.
It would be easier to list the ones I hate, but I’ll list my favorites.

I tune my cars on Silverstone GP. I think the track has great flow to it. Long enough straights to test the car and enough tight turns to test the maneuverability and get things right. It has some trouble sections where if you don’t have your suspension set up well, you’ll skid right off. Then it’s off to…
-
Spa - this is a beautiful track. It’s long and challenging and doesn’t get boring. I love running this with the R-class ForzaGT. It’s perfect for endurance racing with high speed run off areas. I love coming up through L’eau Rouge. It’s such a challenge to take that correctly. Then coming up Blanchimont to that final chicane past the start into La Source. Wonderful track.
-
Prague Short - Another fast and challenging track. Turns 1 - 3 set your entire lap. Then it’s over the bridge and into the claustrophobic section between the buildings and the Chicane of Death - it was this stretch where during a race I pulled off my only perfect drift trying to avoid hitting the tire walls. Who knew?
-
And finally Nurburgring - Nordschleife - They say that if you can drive this well, you can drive anywhere. I love the full track. The Nordschleife section is the most breathtaking in the world. It gives the best variety and is a fantastic test of ones skills. It’s narrow and very difficult to make a clean overtake of an opponent. It’s a track where sometimes the best strategy is to sit behind someone and wait for them to make a mistake because it is a very easy track to misjudge. There are areas where the track dips and you lose traction. There are areas where the curb will absolutely destroy you and others where you can ride it. It requires both patience and aggression. Then when you get through die kleines Karussell und Gaigenkopf you can relax on the long straight and check your tire wear and fuel. But don’t relax too long. If you do, you will crash.

Circuit de Catalunya is probably the best for me, I seem to be able to get a good rhythm going there. I’m not particularly quick around it but it just flows and feels really good nailing all the corners. In contrast I do actually like Yas Marina even though it doesn’t flow as well as Catalunya or Brands Hatch it is quit satisfying getting a clean lap.
Worst has got to be hands down Bernese Alps, it is just really bad either way round. It is probably the one track that will make me just quit a public lobby.
Road Atlanta is my favorite. I live in Atlanta, so it’s cool to have a track that’s fairly close to you that’s in Forza.
It’s just such a good track. There is a good variety of turn types and a pretty awesome straight. I test all my cars here.
During races it is never boring and it flows really well.
Some very differing opinions on here, which isn’t surprising. Nice to see someone mention Catalunya, I’d forgotten about that one, it’s another track I enjoy very much. I’m also pleased that there’s some love shown for the Nordschleife and the full 'Ring circuit. It’s such a demanding course, but nailing a fast time and a clean lap on that monster just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside… I may even wee a little, but that could be because I’m old and incontinent…
I ran the Nurbering 125 showcase sunday with the Honda Civic and wasn’t paying attention my first attempt at how it was set up. I had it set at unbeatable and I actually was in front of every car the first lap but was like “OMG these other cars have been riding my tail this entire lap. How am I gonna stay ahead for 15 more laps” So I lowered the setting down 2 notches and restarted only to notice I wasn’t even in the same class division as all those cars. That Honda was giving the GT cars a good run for their money and the same class cars weren’t even close. It is indeed a wonderful track.
- Daytona Infield
- Long Beach
- Road Atlanta
- All ovals
- The Glen
- Sonoma
I think my favorite track to race on, or at least the one that leaves me the most upset if the game fails to load, is Watkins Glen. Every configuration is fun to race on, although it can be a bit boring running it by yourself.
For hot lapping by myself or for leaderboards runs in going to have to be the weirdo who says VIR Full. It’s tough to master, but once you figure it out it’s pretty great. The Nordshleife is a close second, but at 7 to 10 minutes per lap it loses ever so slightly. The length is a positive and a negative. I’ll put Rio in at third; it’s fun because it presents a unique tuning challenge, and it will eat you alive in spots with even a minor slip.
The track I would most like to see dropped is Yas Marina. I feel like I’m not alone in this.
Far as I’m concerned, Monza (especially Monza Alt) is one of the best things that’s come to the Forza series. Not jut one of the best tracks, but one of the best new additions, in general. It’s got a great mix of speed and technical turns, and for some reason, I feel way less tired/bored after 50 laps there than pretty much anywhere else in the game. Plus, it’s just so classic.
Other than that: Le Mans is always fun, but it’s long and can be tiring. Road America is great for speed (nailing the kink is so satisfying, too) and I know many on here are going to think I’m crazy, but I really, really, enjoy Rio full reverse. The tight confines and tall buildings really add to the sense of speed, and I love that. Plus, all the different surfaces you’re on kind of give me the feeling that I’m racing through racing’s golden era when safety took a back seat to ensuring that as many people got to see live races as possible, no matter where in the world they lived.
I have my Jekyll n’ Hyde tracks, too: Long Beach is obviously a gong show in the first corner, but after that there’s something weirdly endearing about all the concrete and no run-off. The tire walls are a joke, though; I’ve never had a track that made me grit my teeth one moment only to blow me away the next as much as LB does.
Fun fact: there are tire walls on the in-game version of Long Beach placed where, IRL, a Forza Motorsport sign actually exists. Kind of ironic.
The 'Ring: I know I’m supposed to like it – and I do, in parts – but it really tires me out. I seem to grip my controller way too hard whenever I’m on that track.
For me it would have to be Watkins Glen. I love the flow of the track and I live 5 minutes from it. I can hear the cars, when they’re racing, from my house. Brands Hatch, Lime Rock, Sonoma and Road America are some tracks that I enjoy.
It’s a toss up between Maple Valley, Lime Rock and Long Beach.
I like the fast flowing nature of Maple Valley and Lime Rock, but I like the concrete jungle feel of Long Beach.
Laguna Seca, because the corkscrew. Road Atlanta and Watkins Glen are close seconds.
Road America because it’s an hour away from me and the only track in the game I’ve been to in real life
Plus who doesn’t love the carousel, come on.
I have to start by saying I haven’t really played since FM5 (but bought FM7 tonight). But with that said:
- Spa
- Road Atlanta
- Laguna Seca
- Maple Valley
Nürburgring (Nordschleife and GP+Nordschleife). It literally has everything, fast sweeping corners, slow corners, long straights, and gradual elevation changes. I love racing a 12 lap race in Free Play for the payout. I have never gotten tired of the Nürburgring and I’ve played Forza since 2005. I also like Le Mans (Mulsanne with and without chicanes), Mugello for fast sweeping corners, Suzuka and Bathurst because you’re always working, and finally Indianapolis because that’s my hometown.
