Two of the coolest racecars in the game are the FXX K and P1 GTR, in my opinion. Yet you cant use them for anything fun. They are too slow for P class and who wants to use drag tires to race R class with them? Its just really sad having 2 so awesome cars which dont serve any purpose…
Please Turn 10, change the class for those 2 cars or atleast do something so we can actually race them online
In answer to the title of the op: their purpose was to sell the car packs given they were two highly requested cars.
I agree though it’s a massive shame. Maybe we’ll see a league or rivals event that makes use of them? But I wouldn’t expect any mega changes to their classification until the next forza.
That league was for the Porsche 918, McLaren P1, and Ferrari LaFerrari. The P1 GTR and FXX-K are in a completely different class than those cars. So to answer the OP, they were to this point marketing ploys to get folks to buy the packs, and really can only be raced in private rooms since as you pointed out, they’re not on par with the LMPs nor handle worth a darn with drag tires to race in R class. Kind of like the Formula Mazda as a low S class car.
My bad I haven’t been near my Xbox this week. It’s still a shame there isn’t a more permenant solution to their predicament but at least a league for them to be used in is better than nothing.
The major problem with this game is that a car is a car and you only have PI to roughly classify them. GT6 does it far better into separating cars into 3 major groups :
street cars
tuned cars
race cars
There should NEVER be a race in FM6 where for example a Veyron is mixed with WTCC race cars, where a Ferrari 458 is mixed with with historical race cars and such. It’s not only very unrealistic, it’s above all just plain stupid.
That system is actually pretty inferior and doesn’t do the job that Forza needs, which is for cars that perform to a similar ability to compete with each other.
And unrealistic and stupid? You’re going to have to do better than that. Forza races aren’t re-enactments of real races.
Then you’ll see complaints about why I can’t race x car against y car with similar PI ratings.
Leave the PI. Just have multiple classes with similar PI. Probably would only need 2 to 3 additional classes. Then have multiplayer hoppers dedicated to race vs. production.
YEAH post of the day! What is the big deal anyway? If they are not usable, pick another car. There is no shortage of car variety in Forza! Which also explains why 10 different manufacturer models with the same engine type sound almost the same…
I have to ask, have you ever played this game and if so under what gamer tag? When you started answering my post about the Lotus E23 and tire wear I “friended” you to see how you lap times compared to mine. I looked in every level of Rivals on every track and it seems you haven’t completed a single lap.
Interesting question - I don’t blame you. This so-called tag I have here is something I had to select at the time when FM2 came out. That was my first Forza game. I didn’t get on Live until the Xbox One arrived and selected a brand new gamer tag. That explains it. Case closed.
^^^^^But I’m pretty sure he just said he does play the game, under a different GT. Why he didn’t say in that post what his racing GT is, I don’t know, but I’m not willing to label him a “T10 employee in disguise” just because of that, and that’s mostly because I agree with what he says.
I’m not sure what made so many people so obsessed with LB times and online race performance, but throughout the years in all the racing games I’ve played (and I’ve played many) there’s always been cars that weren’t always going to win, but were great fun to have anyway. I mean, why doesn’t the inclusion of the XTS limo and the Gurkha here, the 1886 Patent Motorwagen and the Model T in GT or the Opel Manta and Ibiza in DiRT make for entire threads dedicated to discussing their lack of competitiveness in those games’ forums? It’s cool to have them in the game – I’ve spent time hotlapping in both the FXX K and P1 GTR – which you’d think would be enough.
And that is why in the car wish list thread i made a big rant on the library of cars… I hate that we have a 150+ page thread dedicated to a car wish list, yet have limos, transits and ghurkas but no gto, bug eye sti wrx and many other more deserving cars. And i get the fact there is a community out there that likes that odd ball stuff to goof off with, but if your trying to make the best consol racing sim, then cars that have either been featured in the game before or have some sort of cult following or racing heritage should be in the game 1st. If turn 10 charged me 80 bucks for the next forza and it had every car AND track that has ever been in a forza title id pay that… Then DLC could be reserved for requests and true new to forza content. To me if forza wants to be the greatest racing game this is what would do it for me. And leave the limos and transits off so more deserving cars can be in the game… Or make a large DLC dedicated to that kind of stuff so people that want it can still get it… But fans that want more of a sim game dont even have to waste the disk space for it. Just my opinion
