What does Halo 5's release date mean for FM6?

It’s not a major topic to dive too deep into but with Halo 5 Guardians getting a release date of October 27th what do you guys think this means for the FM6 release date? Halo (apart from H3) is usually a November release, with Halo 5 moving forward to October will Forza become Microsoft’s platform exclusive November release or will it also be moved forward to accommodate something else releasing in November?

FM3 and FM4 were October releases with FM5 being a November release. October is most likely off the record which means September could be also be a possibility for FM6.

Personally I would prefer if FM6 was a November release as it (potentially) gives T10 a tiny bit of extra production time. I guess only time will tell! (Time being E3)

Absolutely nothing I’d imagine. Forza usually releases early-mid October, plus one is a racing game and the other an FPS.

Nothing. Forza Motorsport 6’s release has already been set for holiday 2015. That would be November or December (most likely November). The exact date should be pinned down by E3.

holiday sales are starting earlier every year. half of all retail happens in the christmas shopping season. that used to start after thanks giving. now you see santa up before the halloween decorations are down. so you put your biggest seller late october so it gets the full christmas shopping season. halo is the priority this year. i think forza will be released about a month before halo. it keeps forza from stepping on halos sales and give time between each release to adjust bandwidth etc…so online is less likely to crash. it means you’ll get to play it a month earlier. they shouldn’t take any risks with the halo release so forza will be released early to test live. you dont want the xbox one getting bad press because people cant get into halo multiplayer during the busiest sales time of the year. i predicted this a while back.

Since we are throwing around abstract percentages here, I’ll take part and suggest there is 99.9% chance that Forza Motorsport 6 releases in November.

They’ll both have to hit the stores in ample time for Christmas sales. Being MS studio games (more or less) I’d expect they’ll want to bundle one or both titles with the XB so even November is cutting it fine. As they appeal to different audiences they could hit the shelves within a week or two of each other rather than being a full month apart. Let’s just hope things stay on target

you got november shadow.

Im thinking September. Cant release in October, it doesn’t matter that one is Racing while the other is an FPS. I think Tomb Raider will drop in November. I forget what other games MS has releasing as well. Q4 gets too busy with video games, I wish publishers would spread it out a little more.

fable i think. there are rumors of a new gears of war but i doubt it ever gets released the same holiday or even year as halo. half of all retail sales happen in november and december, thats when you can make the most money if you are a top selling game. if you were a publisher would you want to release in a month where 5% of money will be spent or a month where 25% will be spent? you want the 25% month. but with everybody thinking the same thing for a lesser tier game i would try a january release to get some of the money/giftcards given for christmas. half of 5% is going to be more than 1/20th of 25%. i would go for less competition. there will be a new call of duty, a new rainbow 6, a starwars game, metal gear, tomb raider, crackdown, saints row, etc…

september you have to go up against madden who’s sales are fairly flat. madden fans buy madden, but new customers are more likely to go for something else, espically outside of america.

It will either folow tradition with October, or follow the last release which was November if they seek to maintain a realignment.

Can’t we just wait in see, or is that not possible anymore with all the instant gratification flying around?
