We haven’t heard anything about it yet but that doesn’t stop us from speculating
Imo Expansion 2 should be a large city based map focused on street racing and tuner car culture. Since FH3 we’ve had a snow based rally map, a asphalt based drift/race map and Hot Wheels twice. Horizon has only had decent cities a few times but they were never that large or interactive. Even Guanajuato in FH5 is more a town than a city. I’d love to have a large city with alleyways, car parks, parking garages, etc. to race through. It could be focused on night time street racing (road races, drag races and drifting). Throw in a few special new tuner vehicles and a new story to guide us through the new map and it should be good fun!
We’re likely just going to get another island with an emphasis on off-roading, but I’d honestly prefer that. It’s not original, but I’m the type of guy who wants more driving roads and rally trails over anything else.
I personally don’t get the hype for a modern city. Surfer’s Paradise was probably the most boring city to look at out of all the real cities included in Horizon thus far, and taking 90 degree corners with Horizon 5’s physics system isn’t particularly that enjoyable to warrant a map heavily reliant on them.
Also, dream on about the emphasis on tuners and street racing. This isn’t Need for Speed. Heck, Playground bent over backwards to make street racing a part of the Horizon Festival, as in it’s no longer illegal (traffic in street races notwithstanding). I doubt they would base a whole expansion on it. Heck, we’re lucky enough to have the Midnight Battles back.
I really think that the next DLC should be Mexico City. It’s like u combine Surfer Paradise (the city from FH3) and Guanajuato, plus you have a race track in the middle of the city
Close proximity to Mexico. Nobody ever said that an expansion should be in the same country as the main game. Cuba has an unique car culture scene, with most cars being from the 50s and 60s. I would love to cruise around Havana in an old Chevvy Bel Air! Playground Games could also implement hydraulics for certain cars, so we can customise things like the old Chevvys and Cadillacs. Maybe they could implement “Multiplayer Faction” events (basically gangs in all but name), where we can compete to earn points for our chosen faction, and also deck-out our cars in faction liveries
Expansion 2 is due to land feb-mar 2023. So it doesn’t matter what you think it should be like because it would already have been implemented. They would just be polishing it and testing it now. Hahaha I said testing. I crack myself up sometimes.
