I started doing Rivals races and am earning way more money that in Career mode.
Does anyone know what the formula is for how much you make at the end of the race? I think the more laps you turn the more you make, but do you get more money/XP for doing faster times?
I did about 15-20 laps on Indy GP in class D Rivals the other night and got 90,000 credits just from the race, plus I gained 2 levels for another 70,000. Thats pretty good cheddar for one session.
Career races are short, mostly 2-3 laps. Payout is per laps, so in rivals mode if you do a whole bunch of laps you get a whole bunch of money.
You do not get more money/xp for going faster (I mean you make more money for your time, since your completing a lap quicker…). You do get more money for turning off assists.
XP is a fixed rate per lap, and I THINK is based on track length (not time to complete). IE you get 250XP per 1/4 drag race, regardless of any other factor.
I haven’t messed around in rivals much so I can’t speak to that, however I can tell you all about how credits are earned in free race and career. I actually spent several days studying this trying to find out if long free races pay more then the short career races. I thought about posting my findings but then I got lazy. Here’s a quick summary though:
It’s a set amount per lap and based on the length of the track (longer tracks pay more per lap.) The pay is the same no matter what class you use. Career mode pays double the credits as free race so you actually earn more credits per hour spend playing then in free race, even with the down time in between races. I’m also referring to the base pay, not including the multipliers such as assists, difficulty and affinity. Also, drivatar difficulty bonuses can be big if you can handle the higher levels. You don’t get that bonus in rivals mode I believe so you will still earn more money in career against high difficulty drivtars.
As far as going faster, it does actually pay more… only in terms of credits earned per hour spent racing. It’s a set amount per lap so the faster you turn that lap the sooner you get the cash. Again, I can’t really speak to rivals mode but if you’re looking to earn some cash use the fastest car you can on a track you know well against the highest difficulty you can beat with the fewest assists in career mode.
I never did much with XP but it appears to work the same only with no multipliers.
I think XP is based on your driving distance (short tracks earn less long one). I still earn big XP even if I finish 10th (but I did not check if I earn less XP than if I finish 3rd)
Did you think that good drafting and perfect pass count are taken into account for XP earning? I would think so
An easy way to earn credits is to race against 15 “Unbeatable” drivatars with no assits on Indy oval in Free Play,
there are no major problems to win those races, and come in third place should everyone manage to achieve even with normal driving skills, and the payouts is just the same as winning.
