What Cars are Best to Use Backstage Passes On?

No… I, personally, am not looking for insight on the question in the title. I would like to offer advice to newer players who may be wondering though.

The answer is: Depending how many backstage passes you currently have, you probably shouldn’t use any of them.

Now hear me out. As a veteran player who recently reset their entire journey to start from scratch, I’m in the same boat as most of the newer players when it comes to the Backstage.

Currently (as of today) there are 76 cars in total in the backstage. If you only have a couple passes, the choice can be a difficult one. However, you might want to also consider the fact, that if you use a backstage pass today on any given car, there’s no way of knowing if that same car might come into your possession by other means. It could show up in an upcoming series playlist, Forzathon Shop, or someone could even send it to you as a gift. Case in point, I just received this one today:

You just don’t know. When this sort of things happen, you might end up wishing you had used your backstage pass on a different car. You might feel like you wasted it. My advice is to not use your backstage passes and let them accumulate. Currently, you can only get two passes per week and currently two cars get added per week. You’re better off just acquiring the ones first in other ways until you have the same number of passes equal to the amount of unowned cars in the backstage. Then you won’t feel like you wasted any of them.

…if you’re that patient.

There may be that one car that you simply MUST HAVE NOW! That’s cool too. I totally get that. Get it. Do it. Use your pass on those ones since they’ll bring you joy no matter what. I’m just making a suggestion that will help you feel better about your decisions.

One thing I’d suggest is always check the auction house first. If you see some in there, they arent very rare … and youd know they are available in other way if you want to hold on to a backstage pass.

That said, backstage passes are only good for one thing and not using them gains you nothing. Ya can’t take em with ya. The backstage pass list only increases by 2 each week, so as long as you keep 2 in your inventory at all times and play some each week, youll never miss anything new in there. If you dont play every week, maybe keep more than 2 saved?

And if you want to know how good a car is at stuff before you spend a pass on it, just come in here and ask and you’ll probably get a review. Some cars are good for certain stuff. That 2021 Porsche that was added a week or two ago is pretty strong on roads when upgraded to S1 900 … one of the best S1 900 Porsches in road and street race events.

I didn’t say, “don’t use them”. I just said to save them.

Yeah I know. :+1: That wasnt really a direct response … more for a hypothetical new player that might be reading.

To game it out:

If a person plays every week, and does the playlist and buys the shop gamepass every week, they dont really need to save because theres never more than 2 per week. Always making enough to stay even. They may want to keep a balance of 2 just to buy the new ones as soon as the week starts.

If a person checks in every week but doesnt want to do the playlist every week, it would may sense to at least keep a balance of 2 just to be able to get the new stuff every week if they want. Then if they spend them, they can replace them before the next 2 are available.

If a person checks in every week, doesnt want to do the playlist, and doesnt want to worry about replacing 2 the same week, it would make sense to keep a balance of more than 2 … so as to not get behind and have buying backstage pass cars be a mulit week project.

If a person doesnt check in every week, then it would make sense to keep a balance of more than 2 for sure … unless they want it to be a multiweek project.

But regardless of how they may play, doing the treasure hunt is always a good idea. Its a chore that takes a couple of minutes but is worth … what … 5 horizon arcades for VIPs and 10 horizon arcades for non VIPs? Thats a couple of minutes to avoid an all day grind to put toward the forzashop backstage pass.

I think thats what I was getting at.

Personally, i play every week and earn the 2 passes every week. I dont need to worry about saving. But I do have 10 saved. Im constantly pushing up against the garage limit, and thats the only thing that keeps me from just adding everything new. If no garage limit, playing it like me would lead to no need to save passes. Thats just me, though.

Yeah that Ferrari is a wheelspin. I think all the wheelspin cars are probably available in the auction house, and a lot are pretty cheap.

Here is a list of the 210 cars that are not . . .

  • accolade
  • autoshow (includes all DLC except unicorn cars)
  • barn find
  • car collection
  • skill tree
  • unicorn (Ford GT OPI, Ford Coupe FE, Zonda Oreo)
  • VIP
  • wheelspin

I think it’s complete as of 12th June 2025.

Cars in the Backstage on 18th June 2025 are crossed out. I might be able to keep that up.

I see theres a glut of Focus st and BMW IxDrives in the auction house. All up for 20,000,000,so i put mine up for a little lower to get shot of them. :+1:

An amazingly compiled list :+1: with maybe 10 that I would want to get if I didn’t already have them.

The 60 Vette is the car collection reward for Chevrolet.
