What are you guys doing to squeeze out the most top speed in final gear?

,

What do you do to ensure that you get the most speed in the final two gears?

I know the LaFerrari’s drag coefficient and power to weight ratio may be off in the game but I can’t get this thing to hit 350kph, let alone exceed it.

I’ve added weight reduction to it, race tyres, wider tyres at the rear, race transmission and tweaked the gear ratios to death and experimented with different tyre pressures and suspension settings.

It accelerates very slowly in top gear. Only time it might hit 350kph is if you’re slipstreaming behind an AI car on the Mulsanne straight.

So, any tips? I don’t think I’m doing anything wrong and have requested the Devs to adjust the top speed of the LaFerrari to reflect the real version, along with fixes to active aero and sound of course.

But if you have any tips, please share. Other cars like the 812 are outgunning it in top speed so something is off for sure.

Anyway, creating this thread so you guys can share tips for squeezing out more top speed in the final gears for any car and not just the LaFerrari.

Thanks!

On lemans just use stock tyres, since it’s power build track, less grip=more advantage over ai, and ai probably uses stock tyres too.

Lower Downforce to minimum.

Set 1st gear as your full torque start gear, and last gear for top speed (but not more than needed), then calculate difference in speed on last gear and 1st gear, (for eg 350km/h-100km/h= 250km/h)
Divide speed difference by number of available gears -1, so if u got 6 gears, divide by 5 (250km/h/5 =50km/h)

Now increase every gear by the result of your calculation
1st 100km/h
2nd 150km/h
3rd 200km/h
4th 250km/h
5th 300km/h
6th 350km/h

(This is just example)

And push your engine over the redline on each gear

1st gear should be as long as possible w/o losing time on start.

Zero out your toe settings helps, also adjusting ride height if you haven’t tried these already. Don’t wana give away all my secrets :v:

Oh come on, give em up already.

If you can get the LaF to exceed 350kph…

Already doing this. Don’t have any real complaints with cars not hitting their power band in top gear. Only the LaFerrari… Can’t get it to reach or exceed 350 kph either on a stock or race transmission with other upgrades like weight reduction and race tyres.

got 348 on almost stock car [only race transmision], 5% fuel

It could get 350 if road was not so rough

well this car seems to be always in “track” mode in this game  so no chance fo reaching 370km/h

I spend half my time on the forum anyways… :expressionless: idk what it’s like to play anymore.

For real tho I usually spend about 10-15 mins on my gear ratios. Whatever track I’m on I see how much speed I need for high gear. I want peak power on the telemetry to max out just before I need to get off the gas for the turns. Then I find the quickest gear ratio for that mph range. Down to the last click I’m going for the fastest 0-60 and 0-100 mph.

Any light weight parts install them and don’t install the oil cooler stuff just add weight and not worth it.
Any spoilers remove them. ride height plays a roll on top speed experiment w it. And always low in the front but don’t let it drag. Mm for just a high speed run try skinnier tires? High tire pressure. See if that helps ya.

Tho looking on specs laferrari top speed is ~351 km/h

Did y’all motor swap it? Jw rn I have 880 pi

It’s stock car, no changes, only race transmission to adjust gearing

Beats me I can’t get it to go that fast. Too tired to keep fooling w it now might try later .

Thank you man! I will give those ratios a go. I wasn’t able to break past 348 kph either on the Mulsanne straight but before the long right hander, there’s plenty of relatively flat road.

Anyway, you achieved this without any weight reduction and tyre upgrades yeah? Because mine is fully upgraded and still can’t get it to hit 350 or beyond.

What tyre pressures would you normally have for a car like this to hit it’s top speed?

Well, Ferrari says it will exceed 350kph.

Assetto Corsa has one of the most accurate car data you’ll ever find in a driving sim. You can push it beyond 360 kph in 7th gear and I’ve seen multiple POV videos of real drivers pushing their LaFerrari to 370 kph

Oh? So that limits the top speed due to the active aero working a certain way perhaps?

Also, does track mode mean the rear wing does not tuck back in at really high speeds?

Yep i just used stock car with race transmission.

Well if u rly want to push this car… J
Use engine swap that will have more power.

Acceleration depends on power to weight ratio, but for top speed u all u need is power, and low drag.

I don’t rly know how different modes work work laferrari, but guess it was programed in game with qualify mode in mind (max performance),

Motorsport always locks cars In “track”/performance mode, like this Merc with F1 engine.

There are glitched suspension tuning methods that allow u to reduce drag significantly but I don’t know how it works.

Precisely. I think the LaFerrari’s power and drag coefficient is off cos the real one in stock form flies past 360kph like it was nothing.

Oh but you must find out! If there’s a way to make this car shoot past 350 or 360 kph I’d love to know!

Edit: @Akatoyaa I gave your gear ratios a try. Even after applying tyre and weight reduction upgrades, this car will stick at 348 kph. It’s as if it’s hard coded in the game to not let it hit 350 kph. How odd.

Well just engine swap it for more power
