Weird hood view, is it just me?

I always play hood mode, and I had to stop in this game, because the paint was way too reflective, and I couldn’t keep track of the odometers and the track. I think it has to do with the how reflective the paint is, and how light the odometers are? They’re almost transparent white, while the paint on your car is so reflective, that you can’t make anything out. And it’s almost impossible if you’re using white or light grey paint. I just use bumper mode, which sucks, cause I loved hood. I still hate the FOV in cockpit, as it still looks like you’re in the backseat watching someone drive.

It’s fine the way it is. It’s pretty much the same view since FM4, with some improvements - it wiggles and judders when you lose traction and start to gain traction. You can turn motion effects off in which case, the hood will move with the suspension’s movements. By keeping M.effects on, the hood moves around without the camera moving too much; it’s kind of like PCARS’ world movement and g-forces setting in the camera options.

Either that, or the gorgeous reflections are throwing you off.

I occasionally race in bonnet cam. (Normally use cockpit)

Off the top of my head there is an option in settings to turn off motion based effects.

I have this turned off .

I havnt done a test to see if having motion based effects turned on/off makes a difference to bonnet cam.

Try turning the Camera Motion Effects off. I am not sure how to get to this setting from the main menus due to not having F6 open at the moment, but you can pause the game in single player or rivals and select Hud options. I believe the first option is the Camera Motion Effects. Set this to Off and see if that fixes the issue.
