Sorry but i see no sense in this. You say that the loading times when you change the seasons would be anoying, but waiting a week for a change is not?
And why you are worried about changing it? When you don’t want to, simply don’t change it.
Would it be only online, so i would totally understand it. But offline? When im playing alone i want to be in full control of the game, and not the other way round.
My favorite season is spring. When i miss the week, i need to wait 3 weeks till i can do free roam in spring
At least we can change the seasons in the blueprints.
I’m clearly in the minority here, but I really, really like this idea. Some of the best memories I have in my gaming life have stemmed from being in a situation I wasn’t completely in control over. Often a challenge provided is better than a challenge I set for myself.
So I boot the game up and it is midwinter? Great, I have to adapt to that, and that adaption will likely provide an enjoyment I wasn’t expecting. That might be through battling with a driving style I’m not as comfortable with, or setting up a car a different way. Heck, forcing me into a vehicle category that I wouldn’t normally choose can be tremendous fun!
I understand that people will want some control over how they play and with the Blueprint system you can. If you absolutely must have that perfect summer road right now but it is winter in the shared world create a Blueprint and enjoy your summer. As for open world activities like barn-finds and boards only being available in certain seasons? Well what’s the problem? Most of us will be playing for months if not years on and off so there will be an opportunity in that time to get everything. Why the hurry?
Yeah although I am concerned about have some control over the seasons, I rarely changed the weather in the Blueprint in Horizon 3. I always had it set to Current Weather and set the progression to Rolling rather than Static. It was really fun to show up at a race and have no idea what weather conditions there were going to be throughout the race.
As a someone who doesn’t have time to play as often as I’d like, it sucks that I may be able to enjoy driving on summertime just once and then I have to wait for a month to do it again. Also living in Finland means, that I have to live in the middle of snow and darkness for 5 months/year, and during that time I just to want to escape reality to somewhere sunny, not being forced to play in wintery UK.
I’m pretty confused as to why people are upset with the one week a season system. It’s realistic to real life having each week last as long as one another. If they did it more frequently it’d feel odd and would get boring a little quicker. If they changed less frequently then a lot of people would miss out on seasons. If they implemented seasons like The Crew did, it would be awkward too as it randomly snowing in The Crew is really distracting and removes you from the would and really kills the immersion. I think a week per season is the right way to go.
I am completely fine with the one-week-a-season-system in the shared open world. But in my singleplayer world I want to choose what season I am playing. If I start the game in a couple months and I want to drive my Acura NSX I am pretty doomed if the game play in winter right now.
So if seasons are the new main big thing about forza horizon 4. That means if they succeed they’ll be rich. If they fail, they’ll be broke. So, seasons change every week. That means if you hate a certain season you may have to wait for atleast a week. How about seasons change every day. You only have to 1-3 days if you don’t like that season. Or better yet have an option ingame that let’s you choose. So, Forza you have time. Please fix this in time of the demo and release. I would hate to have to suffer through a week of only one type of racing. And so would other players. Please fix this.
Personally I am fully invested in the “living world” idea where seasons last for 1 IRL week where each season will vary slightly. I guess the plan is to keep the game fresh and feeling different week on week.

It’s a cool idea and I get why folk don’t like the change. Some folk just wanna play in a single season. Which is cool, everyone plays differently and has varying schedules. On that, I hope the route creator allows for seasons to be chosen , allowing folk that don’t want the weekly seasons to play how they want.
I disagree with this. I’m not the type to drive exclusively in one season but I would like the option to choose. For example, when I launch FH3, I choose whether I want to drive in the summer or winter (Blizzard Mountain).
I wonder what happen when the seasons changing and how it changes. Whether it changes suddenly or changes with a certain amount of time so that it changes smoothly and naturally. I think the perfect one is it takes enough time to change environment like fallen leaves gradually pile up, snow gradually piles up, snow gradually melts and flowers bloom. What’s your opinion about this?
I really hope we can manually change the season in singleplayer.
I understand that they want a weekly change in the online version, but if I want to play in constant winter in singleplayer, well that should be an option. It wouldn’t make much sense in my opinion to wait for your favorite season for weeks in the singleplayer.
Another example: say you really like supercars, summer and spring would be the best season for your choice of car, (I don’t expect the supercars to be uncontrollable during fall and winter, but well a bit harder.) While in fall and winter buggy’s, SUV’s and other utility vehicles would be the preferable vehicle of choice. <— I can see this being fun in online, to have the game take on major changes week in and out. but yet again in the singleplayer I would not enjoy waiting for weeks for the perfect season.
I’ve read that you can make your blueprints act out in your season of choice, but what about the photo mode? What if I want that one perfect car in the perfect spot with snow or rain or sunshine?
Or what if you don’t have a lot of playing time? You could miss out on your favorite season for a long time that way.
All and all, why not make singleplayer seasons an option? Click the option box for weekly changes, or disable it to change it yourself.

Dyon photomode is working in bluepirnt just like in FH3 but only for one person. I’m not sure if you can drive your race with your season/weather in other season.
