One of the big main changes I would like to see for the next fh title is how they handle the seasons/different terrains.
On FH4 the main concern with fh4s system is that the seasons would stop the players decisions, by having winter in a time you didnt want to, or wanting to be on another season.
FH5 tried to fix this but unfortunately failed as it kind of worsened the diversity/replayability/seasons themselves by not making them as noticeable as before.
The best way to solve this problem (at least for me) is how they handle it in FH5’s Hot Wheels expansion.
Basically having different biomes across the map, and theyre much more noticeable, like a snowy biome, the jungle biome, desert biome, things like those, connected on a highway/tunnels and bridges to distance them enough. If the seasons changes are a thing, maybe make the biome related to the season change (on the winter season, maybe the snow biome could have blizzards and a higher amount of snow, and the jungle biome could have heavy rain all over the place, maybe with some thunders).
This will help the player’s own decision as to what he wants to play, do they want to play on the snow? They can go there. Do they want to play across the jungle with a lot of rain? They can go there, etc.
You can also add on that this could improve gameplay, replayability and progression on the story mode of the next fh, as they could add the roadtrips from fh2 or the festivals of fh3, but driving to the next biome and starting a festival/championship/next chapter there.
I second this. I’m dreaming of a map with, say, mountain range dividing it into various zones that could have very different climate and combine summer with winter at any given time, regardless of current season (although seasons should still alter particular parts of the map).
On one hand I miss the winter from FH4, with vast fields of snow and great frozen lake (that pond on the top of volcano in FH5 is not enough), but on the other sometimes I wanted to drive some fast cars on dry roads and couldn’t find any on the entire map. I believe there’s a way to reconcile these two contradictions. And to have ice more often than once per four weeks.
Mountains would also give devs a chance to place much more twisty touge/hillclimb roads on the map. I know I’m not the only one who enjoys that section on the volcano in Mexico
It has to do with climate and area on earth. Mexico is in a hot & dry area so it’s not gonna experience seasonal changes like the rest of the world. Hate to break it to you guys but, if the area of choice by devs with the weather that players wanting don’t mix, it’s unrealistic and most likely will not happen.
That’s true. So the key to success is picking the right spot on Earth… if only there is any fitting place on the planet, preferably with rich automotive culture as well
