Yep. For now, if you’re having trouble with the drivatars, apparently going offline is the solution until they get it straightened out. According to Dan, somehow higher level drivatars are getting into the low difficulty levels at the pole position, hence the reason they disappear into the sunset. They are working on it though so it should be fixed soon.
Thankyou to Dan and Brian for stepping in. It confirmed what i’d said about Twitter mangling the message.
Can we now please as a community stop instantly jumping to conclusions and causing others to join in, and turning the forums into an unwelcoming vision for new members?
If new people come on the forums and see these kneejerk threads and people calling the devs arrogant and uncaring, they may not come back. That could be the next Little Vixen, or Raceboy77 and we’ll have lost a valuable community member before they’ve even started.
We need to expand this community, and make it into the place it used to be. Yes Turn 10 have ruined some of the community elements, but the community is US too. WE need to be more patient and thoughtful, and stop jumping to conclusions.
Just a thought guys. WE can make this place better. I have, and always will, have faith in this community to do better, to be better.
Fine that some of you have no problem however the easiest settings are clearly for people that aren’t that gifted … for people that can’t drive a top 200 time. And get better well than you are doing elitist. That easy setting is for the less gifted accept that. If they can’t win what do you think that happens? right they will play something else. That remark get better really how long you think they’ll try if the got beaten every race?
Also easier difficult setting excuse me as stated before it make NO difference if you set it to easy that’s the whole point.
I’ve had to lower my settings in Forza as i have neurological damage to my spine and severed all the tendons in my left hand. My Brake control is poor, so on goes the ABS and Drivatar are set lower at highly skilled currently. It doesn’t mean i can’t play the game, it means i’ve gone from top 1% of leaderboards, to top 15%. But that’s just how it is. I don’t expect to win every single race now any more than i did before. I like a challenge, otherwise there’s no sense of achievement. lol. But everyone should be able to play on any settings without being discounted from the community.
I tend to play on expert / pro but I ignore the lead car, sometimes I use tc other times I don’t. F1 and LMP I cannot control with a controller without tc.
Maybe if/when the NOS car gets patched I’ll adjust my difficulty accordingly, the point of assistance and difficultlys is so the game can cater for a whole range of player’s.
Several points of view to relate -
• If the devs don’t think winning is important in a racing game, they are in desperate need of calibration. While the process is important (sportsmanship, immersion, progress/development and the supporting ancillaries like tuning/painting/collecting etc.), the ultimate goal is to win. Forza 6 is not a parade simulator.
• Having stated the above, the devs may have been compelled to add artificial difficulty in some aspects of the game to justify the new “mods” feature. After all, if the player runs every final lap alone, why would he or she need a mod?FWIW, most of the mods I’ve looked at leave me cold, except the bonus XP/CR and “grip” permanents.
• The “bolter” problem may be more a function of having to deal with traffic early, and never having enough laps to catch/pass the leader after clearing the pack. I would run max-difficulty if I could increase the lap count to something reasonable. (A little off-topic ranting, now - some of the races don’t even last as long as the loading screens that precede them.)
• Finally, there is a lot of granularity in the available difficulty settings. Adjust it until you can win, but still face an entertaining challenge. Also, befriend some mediocre racers. It seems that a field of super-star friends ( usually grouped in the grid right around the player) results in the front of the grid being stronger than one would expect. Or maybe I’m seeing things.
I try to see multiple sides of an issue, and hope I contributed constructively to this discussion.
P.S. The 2016 Mustang Shelby 350 was awesome around the 'Ring. Sounded lame, though.
I had a race on Bathurst witch isn’t my favorite track, I put the drivatar on easy on three of them just drove away and I became fourth, they were unbeatable.
That gave me the idea to put the drivatar on unbeatable and in that race (it was a really hard race) I became seventh so for me the big difference between easy and unbeatable is only three places
Just had my first race of the final championship in the f1 ( yas full at night) one of my friends drivatars posted a 1:44.3 which would place it second in the overall lbs for that track. Drivatars set on average all non friends drivatars going around 2:03s
Again… I haven’t noticed it unless I make a mistake… But then I get through traffic pretty quickly… Have noticed 1 or 2 are always fast in a straight line but they’re all crap on the brakes and in corners so never found it an issue… Maybe I’m just one of the lucky ones??
well reading that is frightening to me considering what i’ve just encountered. I’ve hit a race in career that is impossible to get third. nuerburgring in the night series. for some reason there are three cars that just push way ahead almost like they have turbo boosts in the back… half way through lap 1 they just break away and never make one single error, doesn’t matter the drivatar difficulty, mods, assists. i’ve tried all kinds of things in 5 restarts … 4th is the best i got. this does not help when you start at 12th every single race.
this is not the same in any other mode., not even showcases. Showcases, free, and multi with the drivatars play like it should. My campaign is absolutely bonkers! I should not be getting 4th as in new driver with mods/assists and barely making any mistakes. i’m getting beat by half a lap!
as much as i am enjoying this game they really really need to fix this. Mine is just getting unplayable for career and considering i like the mode and want to continue, it’s doing all it can to make me toss my controller.
This problem is not about skill, it’s about the drivatars being broken in career because they don’t even come close to this behavior in other modes, not by a long shot.
Same track, same issue. Finally was able to place second on my 4th or 5th race, and had to drop the driveatar difficulty to the easiest to get that. And the first place car was so far ahead, I never could have caught it. I’m not a top of the leaderboard pro, but never have that hard of a time. Just doesn’t seem right.
And I have seen it on other tracks, but mainly been the one car way ahead on most tracks. And it’s not the end of the world to place second, but I do hope they figure it out soon. It is rather annoying.
This makes me really disappointed, last night I wasnt able to win a single race even on the easiest drivatar difficulty. The 1st place drivatar was a full 40 seconds faster laptime than the ones in third.
It basically makes the career mode unplayable once you get into A or S
The drivatars are probably working as they should.
Sounds like not having to go through traffic is a huge advantage for the AIs that starts at the poles.
And it’ll probably worse on tracks that have lots of tight corners for traffic jams at the beginning.
Just imagine if you were to start 1st or 2nd. You’ll probably lead by 3/4 of the track the whole time.
The quick fix for this would be to allow players to qualify higher in the starting grid.
Or disregard collisions in the first few corners.
you can apply the +3 grid position mod to your 3 mod slots. this will start you in 3rd. this should help people struggling to get through the pack and not being able to catch #1-3 drivatars in shorter races
also. the races get longer as the career progresses.
I don’t understand this issue being discussed (only details of it at least)…
I’ve been playing the game since the 10th, and I’ve had zero problems with winning. My difficulty ranges from Expert to Unbeatable, depending on the track played, and the results I get from changing difficulty, is in most cases very predictable (I don’t use mods, and I normally race in un-modified cars between 90-100% of the PP limit of the race).
I love playing The Ring and I’m quite good at it, so I did a bit of testing across many classes based on this thread. Correct: Some do pull away, but I am ALWAYS able to catch up with them and win or at least finish 2nd on a 2 lap race (which of course is a fairly long race), but I can win though and that seems to be the issue here partly, that people say they cannot win. It usually takes me half a lap to reach the 4th or 3rd position, and then an additional full lap to get to 1st and then I lead for half a lap.
I’ve tested this from classes E to S and it’s exactly the same pattern.
I just think people can’t win either because the races are too short OR they lack the skill.
I did similar tests on other tracks in Free Play, and generally, if the races are more than 5 laps, I can mirror these results up to PRO level at least.
NOTE:
If I bump to Average difficulty or easier, it’s SUPER easy to win on every single track - even in a car that has no tunes and is thereby inferior to the others.
This is my experience at least.
EDIT:
It’s also pretty clear to me that tracks I’ve historically not raced a lot, and which I thereby are worse at, tend to show the problem being addressed here. Which leads me to the conclusion that it has to do with skill more than anything that people aren’t winning.
It’s particularly in the turns that I’m able to catch the “pullers”, and there is where I’m bad on a new track obviously.
EDIT 2:
I noticed that drivatars now trail-break and things like that - things we’d never see the AI do before drivatars were introduced.
I’m glad you’re the ultimate king of forza and your number one on all the leaderboards but not all of us are that good, If I normally don’t play on unbeatable level and three of the drivatars are then there is a problem, If I put the drivatar on easy and they still are unbeatable I call that a flaw in the game and that is what this discussion is about mister king of the road.
