I don´t care about not having the Expansion Pass included but it would be nice to have the 10 bucks discount not time limited…

Yeah, I’m with you on this one. I can’t see any reason for them not to have that discount be indefinite. Only thing that comes to mind is that they want as many people as they can get to buy it before they tell us the second expansion on it is a Porsche Expansion (glorified car pack).

I don’t get what’s so hard about this. Every single game that offers different editions still make you pay for the Expansions. True, many of the “Ultimate” editions come with some toy or other (Like Skyrom came with a Dragon or something). But the Expansions were not free nor included.
I think what people should be more upset about is that the expansions for the Horizon series have been traditionally very weak. The Fast and Furious expansion for Horizon 2 wasn’t even a proper expansion. It was a car pack with a small content update.

The fast and furious for fh2 was a standalone game…it was not an expansion and was also free for a limited time

Um what games? Yes there are microtransactions for other games but that’s it.
CoD Digital Deluxe: Includes two games, and season pass for IW for all maps, nothing will be extra after taht.
GoW4 Ultimate: Includes seasons pass for all maps no map will be extra after taht, free microtransactions, and a backward compatible older GoW.
Fallout 4 Digital Deluxe: game and expansions.
Doom Season Digital Deluxe: includes all future maps.
Please name ONE game this year where the digital deluxe/ultimate didn’t give you everything that will be available for purchase with the included season pass.

I think you set yourself up for this one, but to state the obvious - Forza Horizon 3.
To name just a few more though:

But keep in mind, just because everyone else is doing something does not make it a good idea. If all your friends are playing in traffic, will you join them? Turn10 needs to make money somehow, and sales alone aren’t cutting it at this point (regardless of the reason) and if they can make some money from a few people being unable or unwilling to read, more power to them. It’s the consumer’s own darn fault.

The other two idk even know what kind of games those are, they’re not AAA they don’t matter

I’ll give you one more for that list, Mafia 3 Deluxe Edition (not even the top tier available for that game) included the Season Pass, which will cover all the DLC for that game, alongside free content updates being added over the next year.

I saved up for months and months for the ultimate edition of FH3… today i find out i paid $150 for HALF THE CONTENT. Anyone else think this is wrong?

Yes, I think this is wrong. You didn’t pay $150 for HALF the content. You paid $150 for all of the currently available content, which you knew when you purchased the game. If your argument is that you just purchased the game today, well you still purchased what was advertised, which was all of the currently available content on the day and time the game released (with the exception of the horn accelerator pack and treasure map.)

Having played Blizzard mountain the past few hours I would say it is worth every penny. This is a full fledged expansion with huge new courses. There was already an insane amount of content in the Ultimate edition, and now the game is simply off the charts so I don’t mind paying a little more and I got the 10$ discount too. Anyways just my 2 cents, I think this is top notch stuff and in no way does it feel like milkage.

Its funny how some of you defend the marketing ploy/strategy behind the “Ultimate” moniker, it implicitly implies that everything is included, to deny that is asinine imho. Don’t give me the “you should’ve read that” answer because simply put that is a cop out. You place an “Ultimate” name on a $100 game and the ignorant/lazy and or new user(s) will probably think everything is included, what makes it worse is that companies do this intentionally to exploit said people. Yes I do agree that they (the prospective buyer) should’ve done their research before buying but to justify this unethical business practice is just as bad as not doing the research. They should change the name honestly so that people won’t get confused and or feel bamboozled should they buy the ultimate edition and not get everything, why not offer an all inclusive package that offers EVERYTHING?
Fwiw forza is always well made and I do believe t10/pg deserve to get paid, very few devs deserve this level of respect because very few devs put out a product of this caliber consistently…but at times it seems like they nickel and dime us. I know there are lot of you that don’t/won’t see it like that and I can’t argue with your POV because perception of value/worth is subjective, in fact I absolutely feel like I get my moneys worth but I buy what I want as its released because I’d rather pay a higher price and get what I want rather than feel like I got scammed, if that makes any sense. I personally don’t have an issue with what they charge because I believe in voting with my wallet, if I like it i’ll buy it, if not I won’t…however, I could never stand behind these unethical marketing tactics.

Ultimate means best, it does not mean complete.
It is actually a moot point anyway.
If you want a complete version maybe you will get one next time…but it would likely be the cost of the Ultimate + Expansion Pass - $10 anyway so the overall costs would be no different.
The total cost for all content in FH3 is what it is. If it is too much for you do not pay it.
I have paid $100AUD for a game I smashed in a week. I have paid I think around $160AUD for FH3 and will most likely play it for 8-12 months. For me it is worth it. If not for you don’t pay it.
I think the cost of entry to movies is too much so I don’t go. I used to buy DVDs but decided if I won’t watch it a couple of times its too expensive.
In no way do I feel like Turn 10 or PG mislead me into believing the Ultimate Edition including something it does not. Trust me if I felt that way I would say so - I have already been accused today of only being negative.
Back when I had no idea what was included in special ed games I read what was included to decide whether I wanted to pay $10 or $20 for a figurine, steel case and a skin for a gun or whatever. I did the same with FH2 and saw the expansions cost more.
Even with Battlefield Premium I read exactly what was included.
I believe the description of the Ultimate Edition was very clear, very detailed and in no way a ploy. If people assumed or expected something else that is their issue for not reading what was included.

Note definition #2 - being the best of most extreme example of its kind.
This was true when the game was released - the Ultimate Edition was the best or most extreme example of its kind. Now that is no longer the case but AT THE TIME, it was.
Now take a look at definition #3 and quit your complaining.
Now that there is even more content, perhaps this will be included in an ALL ADDITIONAL CONTENT INCLUDED bundle as we’ve seen with past Game of The Year Editions or with Forza Horizon 2.
In the mean time, people who are too stupid to read the product description of what they are buying, especially when it’s only a few lines, get exactly what they deserve.

If it’s such a huge issue, don’t buy it. If you want more Forza content and games, buy it.
Life is full of small print. Sometimes important small print. Stuff far more important than what is included in a game for a console.
