2021 Volkswagen Golf GTD
The GTD is powered by a tender juicy EA288 2.0L TDi engine which produces 200PS of power and 400NM of torque, meaning it’s almost a second slower than the GTi and 5kph less as well.
2021 Volkswagen Golf GTE
The GTE’s PHEV setup features a 1.4L TSi engine connected to an 85kw electric motor which produces the same amount of power as you get from the GTI but with the environmentally-conscious side to lean on thanks to its 1.6L/100km of fuel economy. Mated to a 6-speed DSG, it can go from 0-100kph in 6.7 seconds and has a top speed of only 225kph. 130 when going on electrics.
2021 Volkswagen Golf Mk8 Variant
2021 Volkswagen Golf Mk8 Alltrack
The estate version of the Golf is offered in various flavors such as a 1.0 TSi, 1.0 eTSi, a 1.5 TSi, 1.5 eTSi, a rather questionable 1.5 TGi natural gas engine, and the 2.0 TDi engine, Depending on the variant, it can be mated to either a manual or a DSG. The Golf Alltrack, meanwhile, is available only with a 2.0 TDi engine mated to a DSG.
To convince the Forza producers to bring the Mk8 Golf R into the game, here’s a video where the Mk8 Golf R competes against the Mk6 and the Mk7. The Mk6 Golf R and two Mk7 Golf R models are already in the game. Why not bring the Mk8 Golf R here?
I’m begging to see a Volkswagen car bearing the new Volkswagen logo as well as the new R logo in the game like FH5…or the new Forza Motorsport game. Come on T10, we’re waiting…
You can say that all you want, you don’t need to convince the people making the game, you’d have to convince the licensee to give the license to allow this car to be in the game
2023 Volkswagen Golf Mk8 R (CKD Malaysia-spec) R Performance Package
Let’s repeat, the Golf Mk8 R is powered by a turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 320PS of power while mated to a seven-speed DSG, sprinting from 0-100kph in 4.8 seconds.
We’ve been demanding for the Mk8 Golf R to come to Forza since they’ve put the wrong Golf R, the facelifted Golf Mk7 R, in FH5.
R Performance has 333PS, so hopefully they will add this version (also due to Akrapovic exhaust system, bigger rear spoiler and other things). Anyhow, it depends on license (contract with VW), so it means that they have to have license for each model separately. MK7.5 R was only added as “next in the row” of series “R”, so I assume MK8 R should be added later this year as they already added most of current Audi RS models… Also, it seems that it is on top of the list (according to views and comments), so I guess it can be added in October/November, but we will see…
With Horizon Creatives next month set to be the last FH5 series update before October’s Forza Motorsport release, I believe this will be the last chance to have the Mk8 Golf, either in GTi or R, featured on FH5. If not, see you in Forza Motorsport.
Just look at it…
Forza likes to pretend no Golf GTI’s were made after the Golf Mk 3 GTI.
If Real Racing 3 can feature a VW Golf Mk8, in GTi guise, let’s hope Forza can feature the Golf Mk8, especially the R.
