Virtual Motorsports proudly presents, in association with Pirtek Racing who are the official sponsors of this event, the Virtual Motorsports Pirtek GT Cup. This event will take place on Forza Motorsports 4 and will feature a variety of GT Class cars take part in an 8-week series where strategy is designed to play a large part of the racing in this series, as the GT cars in this series will be equipped with drag specification tires, to increase tire wear. This event will host 8 races each with their own Qualifying session beforehand, in a configuration that has limited damage and has all assists open. Which machine will take your fancy as you prepare for the Pirtek GT Cup?
Racing on Forza Motorsport 4 on Sundays at 14:00 CDT / 20:00 BST / 05:00 AEST, the series will feature iconic racing circuits from around the world, starting at the Green Hell itself, Nordschleife will hold the launch party as it takes no prisoners, followed by Circuit de Catalunya for Race 2 in Spain, before heading over to the US. Race 3 will take place at Road America, before heading the short way to Braselton for Road Atlanta and Race 4. Japan will host the next two races in the form of Suzuka which is to be Race 5 shortly followed by Twin Ring Motegi. Race 7 takes us back to Europe for the Le Mans circuit to be opened up for the GT Cup crowd, before the finale takes place on UK soil at Silverstone Grand Prix. To come out on top after those 8 Race’s is no small feat!
The Pirtek GT Cup will feature 3 championships. The Drivers Championship will feature all drivers signed up to the event. There will also be a Teams Championship and a Privateer’s Championship which will run alongside the Drivers Championship, for all to be placed in alongside, depending on the drivers’ status.
Pirtek Racing will be sponsoring the event, and there are real life prizes to be won as pictured below, and drivers finishing in the top 3 places of the Drivers Championship will be eligible for such prizes. Pirtek Racing will cover the cost of distribution of these items only. There is also a bonus prize to one lucky UK resident who completes at least 7 out of 8 events over the Series. They will be given 2 x free BTCC UK Racing Weekend tickets should they meet the criteria, from a random draw!
Working alongside Turn 10, the series is officially sponsored and will feature DLC and in-game credits to be won by the drivers. Those skilled, or lucky enough to finish in the top 10 of the Drivers Championship will earn themselves a share of the credits available. The top 5 Privateer’s and Teams will also win a share as well as one lucky participant selected at random in the top10 overall will win a Forza 5 DLC Code of his choice.
The Pirtek GT Cup will begin in the 20th April with the series finale on the 8th June. 8 Rounds of racing with this field of GT Cars where tire management and strategy comes into place will bring a lot of excitement and a lot of noise from some of these beasts!
