A new Series fights it’s way out of Virtual Motorsports on Forza Motorsport 4, an event which focuses on the idea of 2 car rivals on track fighting for supremacy across the grid. The VM Rivals Series 1 is born and wether you fight for team Nissan or Team Audi, these two S class cars have been evenly balanced to ensure close racing and rivalry throughout the 8 weeks of racing. This Series will see drivers and team mix and match these two cars up and down the grid in a format which will see a two-race Round each night with reverse grids and a mandatory pitstop in the second race of each round. Which of the two RWD cars will you decide on, the Audi TT RS Coupe or perhaps the Nissan 370Z?
The VM Rivals Series 1 will be a dual-timezone event, racing on Wednesdays at 14:00 CST / 20:00 GMT / 06:00 AEST for the EU Championship and also 19:00 CST / 01:00 GMT / 11:00 AEST for the US Championship, the series will feature some well known circuits from the Forza 4 universe that will test both Audi and Nissan on the track. All 8 Rounds will see drivers take on the shorter of two circuits on the first race, followed by the larger version in the second race. The action kicks off at Infineon Raceway in Round 1, before moving to Europe at the Hockenheimring for Round 2. The only stop for Nissan’s homeland next as Twin Ring Motegi hosts Round 3 before heading back to the US for Round 4 at Road Atlanta. Round 5 will take place at the picturesque Camino Viejo de Montserrat whilst Round 6 the following week will be at Sunset Peninsula. Off to the UK for Round 7 as the Silverstone circuit is in use, before the final Round at the loveable Maple Valley Raceway to crown the champions!
Series 1 of the VM Rivals will feature 3 championships to contest per timezone, with each driver being applicable to enter into at least 2. For every that enters the series, they will be entered into the Drivers Championship, but additional championships also await depending on the drivers own circumstances. A Teams and Privateers Championship will be contested by those drivers working as a group or as an individual. Remember if you sign up to a either US or EU Championship, you have to race those races and not dot between the two. Teams will be allowed to either have a mixture of both Nissan & Audi models, or restrict them to one marque.
Working alongside Turn 10, the series is officially sponsored and will feature DLC, in-game credits and gift cars to be won by the drivers. Those skilled, or lucky enough to finish in the top 10 of the Drivers Championship will earn themselves a share of the credits available, with the overall winner of the Championship also gaining the Rally Expansion Pack for Forza Horizon with either a unicorn car of their choice or a DLC pack too. Not only that, the top 5 in the Teams, Privateer Championships will receive a share of the credits, with the winners receiving a choice of either a unicorn car or a DLC pack. In addition, for all drivers that complete the series with 100% attendance (attending 7 out of 8 rounds), a random draw will take place to determine who receives either a unicorn car or a DLC pack.
Series 1 of the Rivals event will begin on the 19th February and run through consecutive weeks until the series finale on the 9th April. 8 weeks of racing against all manner of skill levels, where everyone is there to have some good clean racing and where anyone can do well.
