VIP Membership DLC and benefits

I have played forza since Forza 3, I have been disappointed by Turn 10’s choices in the past. However I never once refunded a game and I am not going to now. I disagree with this practice and think that is was very shady and hope they rectify it soon. I paid the full $100 plus tax for ultimate edition. I didn’t preorder the disc version from amazon to save $20 since I am a prime member since I wanted digital to be able to play on pc and xb1.

With that being said, think about it like this standard game is $60, Car pass is $30, Hoonigan pack is $6.99 for FH3 unless you preordered F7 and then you got it for free for FH3 and F7. You also got a day 1 car pack that if they ever release will be $6.99 I would assume. If they release the Hoonigan pack for F7 it will also be $6.99 I would imagine. So deluxe edition owners lets do the math it is $60 for regular game, $6.99 for hoonigan for FH3, $6.99 for day 1 pack (assume), $6.99 for hoonigan for f7 (assume), that is $80.97 before tax so Vip was free when you look at it like that. Ultimate edition users do the same math and add $30 for the car pass, you get $110.97 before tax saving $10.98 and getting vip for free. Also don’t forget with digital you also got a PC version for free.

Does that mean what I think they did is ok and that I will hurry up and preorder the next one as soon as it gets announced. No not at all, in fact I might actually pass on it due to them turning into more of a money grab year after year it seems like. However I am not going to grab a pitchfork and attack them by refunding it. I know I will play this game for enough hours to get my money out of it and that I enjoy playing it. Some stuff I wish they wouldn’t have changed in game and I wish they would have been more upfront with the vip, since like most of you I didn’t know until after I already was playing the game. I do hope that they fix it, not just for us (the fans), but also for their own sake publicity wise.

P.S. - The windows store is horrible when it comes to preloading a game, I had to do it using a write-up I found on reddit. It failed downloading 3 times, once at 25gb+, the other two times I was not at home to see what it failed out at before it restarted. We should have also had a longer preload window for a game this size in my opinion.

Hi fellow racers,

I’m gonna chime in and agree whole heartedly, it’s a big drop from the previous Vip schemes and feels very much like a rip off.

Someone at the top has obviously stated, ‘increase the profits’ and the team has decided to squeeze us loyal customers. I have the Ultimate edition but don’t feel it offers good value over the standard.

It’s not rocket science that VIP means something but it’s been reduced to the same as other publishers special edition type thing. Shame on you Turn 10 and Microsoft. You had one AAA this holiday season and your messing with the loyal customers!

My ten cents

Very important players downgraded to Vanity Increase Profits. Vanity items for us and increased profits for the company.

Going to have to echo everyone’s sentiments here. This is an utter joke. First, the sorry excuse that is the VIP and Day One car pack, and now this? I dodged a massive bullet by only getting the Ultimate Edition for $67. The fact that they expected people to pay up to $100 for this truly disgusts me. VIP status used to actually have value back in the 360 Forza games, so what happened?

The sad part is that this is no doubt going to hurt the Horizon series once 4 comes around next year. People are going to think twice before paying extra money for anything with the name Forza on it, me included. Then again, Horizon is going to have competition from NFS Payback and The Crew 2, so hopefully loyal fans won’t get ripped off again. We’ll see. In any case, I’m no longer getting anything beyond the standard copy until I see up front that it’s worth it from now on. Being able to play the game a few days early and getting the car pass blind isn’t enough to spend the extra cash alone.

Hello,

What happened ?

Why there is no bonus (Credit / XP bonus * 2) for those who have VIP Membership DLC ?

It feels similar to either FM5 or 6 when we didn’t get the extra credits until they patched it, but eventually got them. Although I don’t believe they will be adding a patch for it this time, pretty sure we got duped for assuming it would be the same, and them not calling attention to it. It’s not the end of the world, but the game overall feels very much like 6, and the damn GMC Syclone got removed but they kept the van🤦‍♂️

It’s easy go get a refund if you bought the game digitally in the Microsoft store. I got a refund half an hour ago without any problems. I’ve had enough of games with loot boxes and gambling systems. It’s sad that Forza is one of those games now. The way they changed the VIP membership is really shady. Even now the store page doesn’t mention that VIP credit bonuses are now consumables. I was a huge Forza fan but the truth is I can live without the games. That simplay means I’ve got more time to play other games.

How did you get this? Did you have to uninstall then contact support? I’m hesitant to uninstall on the chance of a refund, because it was such a butch to download in the first place.

They just remove your license, you can keep the download but it will ask you to enter a disc.

Thanks for the advice, I just refunded. Like the guy above me, I’m Canadian, and $150 for the ultimate is way too much for what you get as it turns out.

Another thing nobody has mentioned yet:
Better make sure you win with your mod applied. You cannot restart a race before completing it. Any mods used during that race will be used, even if you restart (but you also get the rewards).

If you quit a race after the first round you lose the mods applied (or their uses).

Some good news:
The most expensive car I’ve seen that far costs 1.5M

But that’s only half the truth. While the expensive cars got cheaper, some of the lower cars got a steep price increase.

and lets not forget the upcoming Auction House. I get the impression the “Unicorn” system is going to expand and those prices aren’t going to change from game to game.

It seems like it.

$146 Canadian

Forza 6 and Horizon 3 Vip were both $30 here and felt it was worth it to get double credits. Especially on Horizon with their $2000 dollar wheel spins. On Forza 6 I currently have a $110,000,000 bankroll and I spent $60 million on loot boxes just to get that Back of the Pack card for an achievement. It was the wheel spins from levelling up almost 400 times and winning every championship that made those credit numbers possible. Hundreds of thousands of credits almost every level up and I won the million dollar spin many many times, even won the 10,000,000 spin at level 100 and again at 200. It is the spins that really hurt our pockets.

Forza 7, let’s just strip the double credits and whilst we’re at it remove the wheel spins. We will drop car prices to give the illusion that we have made things easier to obtain. These sheep will never figure it out.

Simple, don’t support Tokens and they won’t spend the time in developing these systems that are designed to maximize profits.

+1, however:

You’d think Turn 10 learned their lesson with the community reaction over Forza 5’s economy. But no, here we are four years later and they still try to force microtransactions on us (I don’t care if they come later, the game is obviously built around them). It’s just annoying.
for it .
And to make matters worse: They actively destroy their game for 95 % for the 5 % that actually buy tokens. If you give your game away for free that is ok. But they are charging 100€ for it.
What they should do is double CR payouts and make every car and driver suit available for direct purchase. Locking them behind crates with a chance of unlocking what you want (without even ever telling you how low that chance is) is shady and I lost a lot of respect for Turn 10 over the last three days.

What you are missing is by gutting the VIP system, the 5% of people who actually buy tokens might increase to 15%. I’m sure there are those in the past who have debated buying a token pack and used the extra credits earned from the VIP system as justification for not buying. I don’t have a problem with that, it’s smart business. Just inform us upfront and don’t try to hide the changes behind bad punctuation.

I think all I can hope for is T10 to realise they have short changed the people with VIP, and as suggested turn out a bit more for them in the near future, more cars and crate gifts etc for several weeks as we go along. The least they could do is throw a few of the more expensive crates out there for a month or two.

They made a lot of people annoyed with how stripped out Forza 5 was, and put in so much effort to win back fans with all the content and then Forza 6. It would be such a pity to ruin all that with the mediocre additions the VIP pass gives.

VIP is a bit of a joke really and isn’t worth the 10MB Download for it !!

None of the VIP rewards are showing up?? No crates, cars or anything?? Help?

I was so excited that Forza Motorsport 7 was coming to PC, so excited in fact, that I wanted to show my support (and appreciation) by going balls to the walls and getting the UE for $140 CAD. I almost pre-ordered it last night, that is until I decided to see how people were liking the game over on r/froza, things didn’t turn out too well.

Besides the obvious cash grab that are the loot boxes, ( I mean seriously? Lootboxes in a freaking Car game LOL ), and the countless microtransactions, I was about ready to pull the plug on Forza 7. And then. the fire nation attacked, or rather, Turn 10s greed. I found out they took out the VIP bonus credits and instead gave us this lazy excuse of x25 100% credits that aren’t even permanent. Like what the hell Turn 10? All of this has completely destroyed any hope I had for Forza 7 (especially after the stellar Forza 6). Forza 5 remains to date my least played Forza game solely because of my disgust at the obvious cash grab microtransactions it shipped with. Forza 7 is exactly that but 10x worse. It’s seriously disheartening to see how little respect they seem to have for the consumer base. Like I get Turn 10 are a business and they want to make money but this is crossing the line, how are you going to treat people who paid $100-$140 for your game with such little respect? Are we just wallets with eyes and ears? Do we not deserve any thought for our continued support of the series?

Thank god I checked R/forza and this forum before I bought the game. My excitement level is zilch. Forza Motorsport 7, a game that could’ve had a great first step (on PC and the X) is one giant stumble.

On the plus side, I’ll save my money for another game that’ll actually treat me like a fan and not just as “that dude who has our money”.

EDIT : Just because cars are cheaper than they’ve ever been, as countless people in this thread have mentioned how not a single car is above $1.5 Million, is no excuse for the piss poor credits we get for finishing races. Forza 7 is built from the ground up with microtransactions in mind. Don’t buy into this fantasy that since cars are cheaper, you don’t need double credits, it’s a calculated move they made to disguise the obvious.
