One thing to mention is cars may not be “cheaper” as it’s being said. Sure the upper end has been lowered but the lower end has been raised substantially as well. I’d not be shocked to learn the average overall price has actually increased.
I thought something was wrong with my game because I wasn’t getting any bonuses with the VIP. I can’t believe they screwed the VIP perk this bad. Add me to the list of unhappy people who paid extra only to see what used to be permanent turned into a consumable. Hopefully somebody comes to their senses and changes this back to a permanent benefit.
Gday Guys just wondering bought forza 7 ultimate edition with all packs vip etc. The vip pass doesn’t work on my second account, CAN I DELETE THE ONE TO ALLOW THE VIP TO WORK ON THE OTHER.
Works the way it is supposed to with the changes on all 4 of my accounts
Is your console set as the home console for the account that bought it
If you delete it from the purchasing account it wont work at all
The bean counters are in charge and they decided that not enough people bought tokens in the previous games because we prefer to pay for VIP and get our double credits and not need tokens. I have never bought a single token and will never buy a single token, micro-transactions suck in AAA games but people with more money than brains support the model. I’m not going to take out the pitchfork and torches just yet, I will just adapt and grind long free play races on the ring. Closely reading everything before purchase is now the standard as Turn 10 can no longer be trusted for any aspect, everything out of their mouths should be considered an outright lie until proven otherwise.
Going forward this will probably be the last VIP buy I make, standard editions and evaluate VIP AFTER release. Someday the corporations will realize bean counters are not the solution to making money, maybe after CEOs end up on the receiving end of those pitchforks and torches for letting their bean counters make product decisions
In my opinion, changing the store description means “No, we will keep VIP like this. We want to force you to using real world money to buy our loot crates”.
So, I’m out. I already have all Ford GT version in Horizon 3, without using real world money and hardcore grinding. If I have to use money, so no.
I’m playing a single player AAA game, not F2P game.
Seems they updated the store description and added commas too:
"Forza Motorsport 7 VIP membership features exclusive rewards you can’t get anywhere else! Forza Motorsport VIPs receive exclusive VIP cars, VIP Driver Gear Suits, as well as five 100% CR bonus Mod cards (five uses each per card), and more. Get your VIP membership today!"
Yep. I was quite glad you uploaded that screencap to imgur. Like you I had a feeling they would change it but I didn’t think it would be this quick.
No very good news really we may be stuck with the VIP we payed for but got very littel for our money as they may decide to not change any thing and keep it as is making it pointles to buy as I have also noticed that Our Exclusive VIP cars are not marked as DLC so we may be able to sell them to any Player with out VIP in the AH.
I bought the ultimate edition, and i cant believe the vip thing is only a consumable, the last two forza games (fh3, fm6) were double credits for every level you gained, this is complete nosense i spent 145 bucks on this, and they expect to us to spend more is truly scam worthy
Yeh i wish i had never bought the U edition now of the game as the way they have handled VIP is a complete joke. No more Forza games for me and another game Dev boycotted.
So basically by changing the text on the store they have admitted that the original text was ambiguous at best, or even possibly misleading at worst. I’m betting someone at the legal department has been consulted on this one given all the people asking for refunds and even talking about FTC complaints. All this for something that has worked fine for years and just never should have even been on the table as a feature to be changed. It’s just a shame this is happening.
Throw me into the pile of completely unhappy Forza players. There is very little value in the Ultimate Edition and this has cemented me from pre-ordering any future T10 titles until the game is released and contents are confirmed.
I don’t understand how you can look at the backlash from the consumable pre-order items from deus ex mankind divided and say “Yeah, that’s what i’m talkin about! give me some of that!”, Especially after how poorly received FM5 was with the price-gouging. But then make them items you have to buy rather than just pre-order bonuses. How tone-deaf to your own industry trends do you have to be to pull something like that?
So disappointed that I cancelled my Xbox One X order.
More than refunds for the Ultimate Edition, it’s people canceling orders for the X that’ll make MS take notice.
The only problem with this logic is there’s no real way to get the information back to Microsoft that you cancelled the X order based on the deception with FM7.
After seeing that they changed the description on the VIP page, I figured they’re not going to fix it and put VIP back to how it was. Just got my digital ultimate edition refunded and am not even sure I want to buy back the standard edition. The One X is not even a consideration anymore.
With 7 being the flagship title for your new $500 system, why would they change so much about the game and perks? It’s better to be accused of being Forza 6.5 than to change so much and alienate your core fanbase. I’ve played Forza since part 1 on the original xbox and was really looking forward to 7. What a letdown this release has been.
Just refunded my Ultimate Edition as well. The changes to VIP alone were enough for me to get my money back. I may or may not purchase the standard game. I still have 6 or FH3 to go back to if I want. Was really excited for this game too. Just disappointed right now
