Update 7?

That just shows it’s dead for people who bought through Steam. There are other ways to buy it on pc and then there’s also xbox.

true but its a very good indicator still. Considering steam is the biggest platform people buy games on. Numbers may not be that low but they arent to much better

If a game is available on gamepass, even on PC most ppl play it with gamepass. I despise the Microsoft Store and because of that i would never play via gamepass. But many ppl prefer playing via gamepass. I mean it’s cheap.

Simple look at their sites at Facebook & Co. Only the old ones from release month are still there.

Ridiculously i preordered it on XBox X and i’m pretty sure the amount of permanent active players there won’t be significantly higher than on steam even it’s on game pass.

I hope for Sebring or Monza

A simple look shows several posts at a regular cadence, these are all from the last 2 days, similar on other socials.

If you’re going to say something with absolute confidence, fact-check it first and provide evidence.

Maybe it used to be but theres more and more ways to play games on pc. Steamcharts will only become less and less representative of a playerbase as a whole.

I play on Xbox and the featured multiplayer lobbies are ALWAYS full, no matter what time I play. And it is well known that many more people play in singleplayer than multiplayer.

This game is a Game Pass game, so people play it mostly on this interface, and those who play it regularly like it.

Update 7 coming, and the 27 as well.

27?

There are plenty of Game Pass games that are also good sellers and have high player counts. See for yourself. And while you’re there, notice what’s not on that list. In fact, Forza Motorsport hasn’t been on that list since about mid-January. As for Microsoft’s other list…well, it’s 745th place right now. I’ll admit, that’s a bump from the last time I checked it a few weeks ago, when it was about 900th place out of 993 listed games. It never reached higher than 50th place on the list, and that was in the first week.

This game crashed right out of the gate, and Turn 10 let it burn for so long before acknowledging that there were problems that there’s not much left to save. Those full lobbies you’re talking about? Yeah, that’s because the game has to force anyone and everyone into the lobbies to fill them, regardless of safety rating. That has led to the typical Forza multiplayer experience, which has only driven more players away. This game is not in a good place, and likely won’t ever be.

Man, according to this list, the extremely popular MK11 would also be a failed game? Think again or move on!

Also, Forza Motorsport is a Live Service Game, people typically don’t buy this type of game but subscribe to the service where it is available, and this service is Game Pass. In fact, many people like FM on Xbox and many people play online multiplayer. This is very far from the idea you outlined here. It’s a fact that only a small audience liked it on PC because it came out in a buggy state on that platform. However, the game is much better on Xbox since the last updates.

Enough of the whining negative comments, who keep seeing only the mistakes. You don’t have to be here, there is another game you can move on to.

The game is constantly being developed and filled with content by Turn10, WE who love the game and constantly play it are happy about that. Because it gives us a VERY good gaming experience.

Yes, MS is committed to continuing to support the game. Look at Horizon 5, it has received like 30 updates so far and they continue. The same can be expected with FM.

And before someone says that FH5 came out in better quality and is more popular, I would like to mention the Halo Infinite multiplayer, which was released in a completely low-cost state and was even IMPROVED over the years. And it is played in plenty so that anyone who wants to can play with it at any time. It is also a Live Service Game and so is FM. With FM, they have the same goal, to provide continuous support.

the point of game pass is to drive people to purchase those games, this game is a commercial failure as people arent doing that conversion from gamepass to owning

The point of Gamepass is to keep people subscribed.

Game Pass is not designed to encourage the purchase of games. This is an outdated idea. The philosophy and business model of Game Pass lies in subscriptions. MS practically doesn’t care how many people buy their First Party games, the main thing is the number of subscriptions.

How do you know how many people subscribe to Game Pass just for FM or any game? It can’t be known and we don’t even need to know this, it’s enough if MS knows what it’s doing.

For us, the point is:

  • We have a car racing game with a very strong foundation in the person of FM, which, although it was released with bugs (a lot of games are released like this these days! hello!), but the developers are still constantly improving and obviously listening to feedback to make FM better and better. It will probably be supported and loaded with tons of content for years to come. That’s the point for us.

After 400 hours of playing, I am only interested in what I experience, and that is that I play the game very well and dozens of friends on my friend list think the same. I think that’s the point.

Halo Infinite Multiplayer is F2P. It’s no wonder many ppl play it.

But it’s a good example of how to make a content-rich game out of almost nothing. I trust that they will do the same with FM.

It kinda is when you look at certain games like Snowrunner with all the DLC you have to purchase if you want the “full game”. In saying full game where do you draw the line. Do you leave stuff out to sell back to the customer or do you launch with a more than reasonable amount of content.

My feelings towards game pass is it’s a paid demo platform. Tried it out for a few weeks back in October when FM8 launched then cancelled my sub and ended out buying FM8 outright on MS Store when The Nord dropped.

Bought FM8 on MS Store for Three reasons, One that it sounded like quite a few Steam customers had and are still having issues with launching the game, and Two, if it goes the way of FM7 it will disappear from gamepass, Three, after a year or so of gp monthly subs I will have dropped the same amount as I would buying it outright and if I play it for years I will end up spending 5 times or more than I would have buying outright.

I don’t like any of the other games on offer on GP, well maybe one Cities Skylines 2 but I’m not allowed to modify any game files on GP so it’s a definite no for the service.

I just bought it for the Forza fun of tinkering with the cars, swapping out engines and doing laps of the green hell, everything else with the game feels like it’s just a tech demo with a horridly messy user interface
