Uninstalled the game after two races

There are also no blind drivers who ram you randomly, I guess. Currently AI is too frustrating to play without rewinding

No, i hear ya… The state of the game is atrocious… But, if i was making a “motorsport” game, rewind would never be a thought… Failure is part of sports.

I’m sure you can beat the AI at level 8, because I can. And I’m not the fastest player here.

There are steps you need to do to be competitive:

  • Mount car parts up to the maximum PI allowed for the race; you need money for that
  • Make a good settings or download it from the community
  • Make practise, even more than the 3 suggested laps, until you reach the target time and you know very well the track
  • Start in a position not so far from the top, otherwise you won’t have enough time to catch the leader
  • Stay far from penalties as much as you can

If you don’t want to spend time on this kind of stuff, just decrease the AI level to 5-6, until you find a fair level of challenge. And have fun.

That isn’t my experience. I’ve never had rewind on and don’t experience any significant issues with the AI. They might occasionally bash into the back of my car or brake right in front of me to cause a collision but it’s rarely sufficient to cause any issues - just mildly irritating as it slows me down and isn’t very realistic.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I usually get penalties from over zealous driving and going off course, but even with a couple penalties still finish the race in a competitive position. The people that get ‘triggered’ are impossible to please and best left alone to wallow in their own torturous worlds.

No. When you aproach the finish line after 20 minutes race and AI just knock you off the track, which happens very often in any racing game, this is beyond frustruation.
Don’t like rewind - don’t use it.

Why do I care about beating AI at 8 or 10 level? I just set AI level according to my speed, to get challenge but still be able to finish first from the middle.

I feel the same way. The rewind mechanic, has to be taking up resources to some degree too, how much i dunno… But to allow you to rewind how ever long it does, has to take up some resources that could be better used elsewhere to help improve that game.

Yes, right, my point is that you can beat the AI at whatever level, without aggressive or dirty driving. It’s just a matter of practising enough and having a good setting for the car.

I uninstalled the game and not going to play it unless penalties will be removed from single player.
Which means never I guess.

Simple and plain, get good kid.

Penalties are in Forza Motorsport 2 as well, just differently handled.

Single Player is to prepare you for Multiplayer, so you want penalties off in Multiplayer too?

I never played multiplayer in racing games and not going to. Complete waste of time in my opinion.
AI is good enough for me, why suffer all this waiting in lobbies, safety ratings and so on if you can just go to single player and race against better opponents? I highly doubt that majority of real players drive as good as AI on max settings.
The only point of multiplayer is team shooters, AI cant play as a team at all.

I’m 96% confident that if you would have kept it for four races you would have played this game forever. Now you can go on and continue being a Card Fanatic and not have to spend more money to change your gamertag to ForzaPenaltiesFanatic689.

What a time to be alive to witness this!

I partially agree on that. I mean, AI at level 8 is quite fast in lap times, but multiplayer races are a different kind of thing. There is strategy, study of the other drivers, creativeness, a variety of situations that you experience only when matching other humans.
AI is just flat and predictable, while humans are exactly the opposite.
That’s why multiplayer races are much more fun and satisfying. Nothing compares the excitement of a godd race with battles with other humans and congratulate with them at the end, regardless of the result.
As well as your ranking improves, you’ll find many good drivers, much faster than AI.

This game is not for you, and there is nothing wrong with that. For players like you, there is Forza Horizon. There are no rules there and there are many roads that are much more spectacular than Forza Motorsport. The goal of Forza Motorsport is to race on circuits with rules that prioritize competitiveness in an organized and fair way.

I play Forza Motorsport since the first one and consider it the best racing game series. If FM 2023 is not for me, it means it is not Forza Motorsport anymore.
Horizon is too arcadish, far beyond PGR 4. It is not much fun to play with racing wheel.

Yes it’s not Forza Motorsport anymore for you.

My man, PGR’s entire WR runs are built off of wall riding

PGR3 and 4 hold a dear spot in my heart, but they’re full on arcade titles. Significantly more so than FH5’s physics setup

Forza has divided its game series into two distinct categories: Horizon and Motorsport. Unfortunately, since the first Horizon, the game should have taken a more realistic direction in the Motorsport series. It took a while for this to happen, but it is finally happening. Since you are a player who uses a steering wheel instead of controllers and prefers a game without the reality of penalties, I don’t see much point in you playing Forza Motorsport because it is not the ideal game for those who invest in a steering wheel, it never was.

I understand that you want your old Forza, but if you still want to play the same old Forza, it still exists; just buy it and install it on your machine.

I want Forza to evolve, to leave the choices in the hands of the players, so that I can always choose the number of laps in a race, so that I can do training and qualifying if I want, so that it has strict rules, so that there is damage to the vehicle if any driver makes mistakes while driving, so that severe contact has penalties and damage, so that cuts on the track are punished just like in any regularized race in the world.

I watch GT3, GT2, prototypes, F1, Porsche Cup, Ferrari Cup, Formula Mazda, Lamborghini Cup, Subaru vs Lancer races, and all the cars in these competitions are faithfully portrayed in Forza Motorsport, all the circuits where these championships are held are faithfully represented in the game. Therefore, if I enter the game and get one of these vehicles, then I have to have the rules that make these competitions exist and work.
I am extremely saddened by the lack of damage in Forza’s online competitions. I know that the players in the Forza community are not very cautious, they are very aggressive and have a motorsport experience that requires you to go from last to first in two laps, no matter what the cost. This has been the egocentric culture that Forza has sold throughout its existence and this is not a race!
But this is easy to change, the game just needs to bring a new proposal that has the minimum of rules and severe punishments for irregularities and the players will adapt. What is not acceptable is for the game’s online to continue being this crazy race where anything goes because this does not exist in any of the circuits and cars that Forza portrays.
In any race held on the Spa, Road Atlanta, Nurburgring, Suzuka circuit, … if you crash your car you will be severely penalized by harming another driver and also damaging the vehicle.
Forza Motorsport has to at least give me the right to race under these rules, because these are the circuits and cars that the game portrays.

It’s very difficult to have a friendly discussion about online games with someone who doesn’t play online.
He believes that the AI is better than the players around the world. He doesn’t even go into Rivals mode to see the times of players around the world because the AI’s time at its highest level is far from my time and I can’t even get into the top 10,000.
Forza Motorsport still has a lot of frustrations in its online modes because it doesn’t have the options that make a circuit racing competition exist.
