Unbelievably, unfathomably broken sound on xbox 1 S

Honestly its absolutely beyond words or description

I saved a dvr clip of what turned out to be the “best” worst case but the looping glitch at the start was extremely common in the 3 hours i spent on fortune island tonight

It happened at least a dozen times where the game would sample a few seconds then play that back as the only sounds for 30 seconds or so. After the clip shown here happened I lost ALL car engine sounds for the rest of the night. In total about 40 minutes played with all engine sounds absent. I could hear other players cars just no longer my own.

But the stuff in this clip is by far the… “best” example of the glitchy sounds im getting

I’ve been having the same issue but instead of the audio going back to normal my game crashes, Also been having a really weird issue where for 5 to 10 seconds i lose control of my car like it turns and throttles by itself almost feels like a driveatar takes over.

This is network lag, it will happen on both PC and console. Only thing you can really do is make sure your console is wired (or PC if you play on that) and hope for the best. To be honest I have pretty fast internet (300Mbps) and it still happens somewhat often, especially shortly after joining a new session.

I’ve been primarily playing on PC because of this issue. I have the original xbox one and the sound glitch has happened every single time I’ve tried to play on the console, usually about 10-15 minutes in. My best guess is the hard drive in the xbox can’t keep up with the amount of data that needs to be ran, the console is running out of memory, or the hard drive is going to sleep if you stay in an area too long. Good luck trying to get this fixed, because I haven’t in two and a half months. The framerates also make this game basically unplayable on the original xbox one due to ~20 fps and input lag. The only time I’ve experienced sound/map glitches like this with another game is fallout 4 but it was due to the game being installed on an external hard drive and the drive was going into sleep mode, and I specifically installed FH4 onto the internal to avoid these problems. Didn’t help at all.

day 2 on the island, many many audio glitches. Losing my cars engine sound is now very common, happened more than a dozen times in a 2 hour play period.

Loss of engine sound is typically preceded by the looped audio bug. Doing a race, entering and exiting the festival or restarting the game temporarily restore engine sounds.

Additionally when first starting the game tonight after about 45-60 seconds of the loading sequence the game stopped loading and i was returned to the xbox dashboard with no error messages or notices. The entire thing just gave up and acted like I never existed. Game did load the second time but when it did finally allow me into the game I had been removed from fortune island and had to face a very long load time to return.
