If I buy the ultimate edition, will my son get to play 4 days early with his gamertag (shared xbox), or will he have to use mine?
I’m also assuming he’s not going to get all the VIP stuff etc, but he’ll want it. Do I need to buy the full game twice, is there a VIP only purchase I can get, or will that all come free for both of use because I have the ultimate edition?

you can buy VIP separate if you buy it at xbox.com, it only works with the gamertag that buys it, everything else should be shared and have access to , the secondary account probably will need to use in game credits to buy the DLC though
I’m not 100% sure on the early access.
I have multiple gamertags and for Horizon 2 Ultimate I only had VIP on the account I bought the game with, and the “free” first car from each car pack was only active on the main account, the second account had access to the car but had to pay credits for them.
