So I have been into competing in rivals mode lately. Unfortunately things have been unnecessarily difficult due to the fact that I cannot find a way to turn off my rivals ghost. I use the cockpit view cam and therefore the ghost often obstructs my view. I have been into the HUD under options and set Ghosts to “off” but that has not had any effect.
How do you turn off ghosts in rivals mode
there is no way to turn off the rival ghost but you an pick someone slower then you.
You still have your own ghost to contend with, which is what I think he is referring to. After five laps you have five ghost clogging things up. I find them annoying myself after a while.
never raced my own ghost in rivals unless I picked to go against myself
not sure where you got the whole a ghost per lap as those who run so 20 laps would have their 360 freeze from all the ghost cars
now in hot lap if you race against a ghost i think you can have that ghost plus your best ghost & your previous laps ghost but those can be turned off where as rivals can not
What type of rivals are you doing hot laps drift? In drift the ghost is a good way to see how that person was able to achieve their score and in hot lap is the same idea. Fallowing the same lines as the ghost will help your lap times.
I’ve experienced this as well. You are rapidly overtaking the rival’s ghost. As you pass through it, you slam right into the rear end of an AI. Lost more than one great run because the ghost obstructs your view of traffic ahead. Quite aggravating. Arrrgh.
Gears
you can very often find a rival very near you (I would suggest above you! scroll up, if you’d like to earn any CR) who does not have a recorded replay (no “paper clip” for replay) and therefore no ghost in Rivals.
For reasons such as Gears pointed out the ghosts can be annoying, but I prefer them over not being able to see the pace of my rival.
