Tuning save limits :(

Hey guys, i don’t tune cars, but my 13 year old son does. He is slightly autistic and has just realised that he has no space left to save his tunes. He has to have 3 tunes for each car, and now he has discovered that he can’t even save one per car, he has been in a right old state. I was just wondering if you guys have a way around this issue or if you have any tips for him. This is a massive issue for him…thanks

This is a massive issue for lots of tuners but unfortunately, there’s no solution.

You would need to manage this outside of the game.

Eh… this issue is still existing??? WOW… I am just absolutely fascinated that since Forza 5, on this ‘fabulous’ new and powerful system, that we are still burdened with this limitation. I just don’t understand how the game developers do this. Don’t they play the game? Do they tune? I am truly baffled…

I don’t like this either. I haven’t reached the limits in this game yet, but in Horizon 2, there were limits to number of tunes, number of cars in garage and number of saved paint schemes.

What I did in that game, and will probably do in this game, because I also like to have multiple tunes for each car, was to actually buy multiples of each car and tune them myself. That way I don’t need to save the tunes. The downside is that eventually you run out of garage space so you have to make choices about which cars you want to keep, and also, if you don’t tune yourself, this won’t work.

Nice work around, Bleak Genius.

I love your S1 2016 Camaro. Awesome accel out of the turns, good breaking and mechanical grip in slow speed turns to turn and go. Not a lick of understeer and it has great on high speed sweepers. Plus the xtra top speed compared to most accel builds.

Awesome build and tune! Much respect and can’t wait to try out some of your other builds. It was like a glove. Just felt right.

Oh hey, thanks for that. I appreciate the positive feedback and I’m glad it wasn’t just me that thought that was a good car.

I think I’m getting better at building and tuning for this game as I get more used to the courses so I know where to test and the more I see what the game favors, but sometimes I fall into the trap of being satisfied with a tune just so I can move on to a different car. I have so many built that I haven’t driven yet, and I want to get my first round of tuning on all the cars done so I can then go back on work on finishing all the cars starting with my favorites. Every once in a while I get a request for a car, but other than that, I’m just randomly choosing which car’s next.

But I’m trying to fight the urge to rush through, and since that Camaro build seemed pretty strong, I drove it a lot. I did a 10 race championships on 10 circuits with 10 laps each, then did some point to point Rivals, then tortured a few lobbies with it. That’s probably how I’m going to go about finishing up each car’s tune, but I also like to take a break from a car, come back later and see if it still feels good. Maybe do another long championship after some time away. So sometimes it’s slow going.

Oh yeah, and I would’ve built a Camaro without the wing and splitter … but I need to buy a new Camaro for that, since we can only have so many saved tunes. I really don’t understand that.

Delete unwanted tunes by going to the “my tunes” section for each individual car to create space for more.

That’s not going to help him. Autism brings some special challenges, one of which may be the need of an autistic child to have precisely repeatable structure in what he or she does. (I’m personally familiar with how strong this urge can be, with the son of a friend of mine.) In this case, his son got used to creating 3 tunes per car. Having that capability taken away causes enduring distress.

Not that I think it’s the developers’ obligation to raise this limit–though, frankly, I don’t understand why a tight limit on what amounts to a few dozen numbers per instance is necessary on a system that measures capacity in millions and billions.

An limited option is you don’t save a tune and just have more cars with the tune on the car and not saved, you just need to buy more of the same car.
