Tuning in Forza 7?

Mods will be just add on parts with no tuning ability?

What?

Short answer: We don’t know, ask again in September.

Long answer: Expect the system to be near identical to what you will find in Forza Motorsport 6. The tuning system hasn’t changed much since Forza Motorsport 2 (with the exception of Forza Horizon which was limited to upgrades only) and it’s not something that will likely be revamped any time soon.

Agreed!

Not trying to start a wishlist but one big tuning option I think would suit Forza a lot would be ballast, especially for touring cars. It would have to be part of the upgrade menu as well but I think it would be a great edition to the tuning setup and I don’t think it would be too complicated to implement. It could just be say, 3 options for ballast, similar to the weight reduction options but it would be an option to add 25, 50 or 100 kg to the car and then in tuning, there could be a slider where moving the slider forawrd or backwards, would change the weight distribution accordingly.

Getting back on track, didn’t Turn 10 say something about “unprecedented tuning” for FM7? I think we’ll have the tuning system from FM6 personally, which isn’t a bad thing but it would be nice to revamp it up slightly. We’ve had the same tuning system since FM2 I believe? Apart from FH1. Forza Horizon 3 changed the maximum stiffness of the roll bars from 40 lbs to 65 and the damping has changed from 12 to 20 I believe? Not major changes but I’d be interested to see if that sticks for FM7 too.
