I have the Tritton 720+ model and Turtle Beach x12’s but neither are Xbox One compatible. I can plug them in and hear my game sound fine, but I can’t talk to anybody. Does anyone know if there are leads available that will allow me to use my Tritton headset, is there a specific name for them and where can I get one? I didn’t know the Xbox One controller would have a different plug.
Also, when people talk in game chat on FH2, they sound robotic, like what you’d expect people to sound like on a very old PS2 game or something. I don’t know if that’s a game problem or something wrong with my volume settings. Anybody else getting this? I can’t understand what people are saying, at all, even kinect mics usually sound better… =/
Yes, there are mods available but as the Microsoft ToS states you can be banned for using non-licensed equipment or using officially licensed equipment in the wrong way influencing the experience for others.
Sorry to tell you this but the One has been out almost a year and I thought it was quite obvious that is uses different leads/plugs/interfaces for almost any device compared to the 360.
I use the Tritton’s, great headset. You can mod the xbox chat headset into an adaptor if you’re handy with a soldering iron. That’s what i did. Plenty of videos for it on youtube. It won’t get you banned, that’s nonsense. It does not affect gameplay in any way other than you being able to talk which is for others benefit.
As for robotic voices that’s a bug specific to the Forza franchise as far as i know. but it’s not your headset, it’s definitely an xbox thing.
The robotic-chat issue. It’s a known bug, reported over and over in FM5 and FH2. I get it sometimes - well, more often in FH2 tham FM5. I don’t know if they will fix it, as they haven’t in over a year in FM5. But it’s definitely game-related, as the chat works perfectly in other games.
I know how to read, but the number of people who have done this and nobody has been banned for it. In an interview somebody from microsoft even said they know people are doing it because they are still waiting for the official adaptor which is coming very soon. Very soon was something like 4 months. lol
That part of the TOS is more aimed at people who rapid fire mod controllers, or who use software to tamper with their profiles. The things that actually give you an unfair advantage. I asked microsoft recently about swapping my HDD which is an unauthorised mod by your and their definition. I was told it wouldn’t get me banned, but would void any warranty i have.
They are concerned with people cheating, not people using workarounds for an issue that they had made without a fix available.
