Hey all, Finally got an Xbox one (thanks MS for the 10 month delay), so that means I can finally play Forza 5. Loving it so far, except that the triggers seem to be way too sensitive. By that I mean there is a very fine line between no gas/brake and full gas/brake.
is there any way to turn down the sensitivity so that it is more in line with Forza 4, where I can feather the controls a little better?
It’s a know problem, changing your deadzones doesn’t work either,
You still get full acceleration when pushing the trigger half way down according to the in-game acceleration bar. For now it’s just something we all have to deal with unless there’s a patch.
I thought exactly the same when i first started playing 5. You just have to take time to get used it. Once you have racked up enough miles, modulating the throttle and brakes will come naturally. I actually much prefer forza 5 controls now with the pad compared with 4 on the 360 pad. The vibrations through the triggers really help you get a feel for the car underneath you.
Thanks for the replies guys, glad it’s not just me.
I’ll get used to it in time, after clocking up so many hours on 2,3 and 4 it’s weird to have it different.
Agreed I originally found them very sensitive but after this long I don’t think I could go back. If you drive something like the Lotus Eleven stock you’ll find that the whole trigger travel is useful, at least on the brake, and I don’t see why one trigger would be that different from the other - if they are it’s by design in the game, not a limitation of the controller. Removing deadzones really does make a difference though, and there’s really very little reason to have much if any on the throttle.
Under “Forza Profile” → “Controller” press X to set up the controllers deadzones.
Accelleration and Breaking are set 0 and 100 (inner and outer).
Before I got 100% throttle when pressing the trigger 2/3 of it’s way. Now it’s much better and you can drive half throttle through a corner (at least it works that way for me - I felt a difference).
Will try that tomorrow. Hopefully it will help a little.
Go to the “system” settings, there you can do a controller update. Worked perfect after i’ve done that.
