I recently switched over to manual w/ clutch and am having issues with transmission damage at the start of a race. My technique is as follows: Engage the clutch, rev the engine a bit, and release immediately after the race start. I repeatedly receive 4% transmission damage. I’ve tried several different cars. What am I missing here? Can someone please advise?
Ive noticed the same thing. Until I recently got the elite controller and re-mapped the clutch and up/downshifts to the paddles, I’d get that same 4pct damage ALL the time. Possibly T10 made it a bit too sesitive or not enough? Also, you can set the settings for the dead zone inside clutch @ 0pct - that should help you also.
This is a bug in the game and you can’t avoid it no matter how good your shifts are or what upgrades you have or how you tuned your gear ratios. Sadly the only one who can fix it is Turn 10. It is particullarly annoying with P class cars or higher as you are more likely to mess up the gearbox up to the point where your shifts can take up to a whole second. Let’s just say you won’t be very competitive driving the Lotus E23 with a destroyed gearbox. However you could work around it by being very careful with the gear shifts, especially when downshifting. Hopefully it get’s fixed but for now this is the only way to avoid further damage to the transmission.
Thank you for the information. Hopefully the developers will get this fixed.
As far as I know this bug is only present at the start of a race when using manual with clutch. It doesn’t matter which car you drive or how you shift, you will always get the 4% damage. Any further transmission damage is not a bug. And I don’t think that the 4% damage will affect your shift time in a noticeable way.
