So I’ve been racing in the sim league and towards the end of the race thé car doesn’t shift properly…it hits the rev limiter à lot between gears… Is that à slipping clutch?
If you go to the telemetry HUD and flip over to the right. It will show you what is damaged. If you miss a shift or grind the gears then it will do damage to clutch, transmission or both! And if you over rev the motor it will do damage to it too. Like going into a corner and shifting to many years down it will tear the motor up fairly quick. I did it once today and lost 18% power.
I tried manual with clutch a few times and I noticed that after I bungled a couple of gear changes, the clutch did get damaged, and made it a bit more difficult to run. That, I thought, is surprising, but pretty interesting.
Go to advanced controller options and change 'Clutch Axis Deadzone Inside" to 0, keep the other one at 100.
Good tip but, what does it do?
You do get more speed with the manual clutch so it is always a risk vs reward type of thing. As I mentioned earlier about over-revving the engine you can still do this with manual settings, as well as manual w/clutch.
I find man w/clutch a bit goofy - the car will mis-shift no matter how cleanly you shift. It’s a bug that has carried over from FM3. I just prefer to use regular manual, and casually lift my finger off the throttle between stick-shift gear changes. Plus, it’s a pain to constantly go into assists before a race and change from man w/clutch to normal manual when you’re driving a paddle-shifter.
