Tracks - Homestead-Miami Speedway PIt Exit causes car crashes (1667277)

The Pit exit on homestead throws you into the middle of the track. needs to be fixed

Yes. And many of the pit exits have your car at too high speed toward a wall or off track before it gives you control. This is especially problematic in wet conditions.

Drivatars seem to constantly overshoot the first corner after they exit the pits during the practice sessions.

Saw this on Grand Oak, Eaglerock, and Miami, during the singleplayer MX5 Cup.

Saw the same in Miami during the Practical Performance series. One of them even managed to dive bomb me when leaving pit…

EDIT: They seem to leave the pitlane without kmowledge of the track layout :joy:

Here is a video example as I had a major racing incident last night due to this pit exit.

In short, the pit exit line merges abruptly with the racing line, and at a high speed course like this that leads to scenarios where neither the driver exiting pitlane nor the driver approaching have enough time to react to where the AI driver places the car on pit exit.

This issue is also present on Laguna Seca and potentially Daytona.

Exiting pit in Homestead-Miami: game drives you in the racing line before you gain control. Can cause massive crashes you have no control of specially in faster classes

Thank you for fixing the Daytona Road Course pit exit to mimic the actual track. That was a very welcome change and much-needed. Unfortunately, there are still a few tracks where the pit entry or exit is different from the actual track which cause a plethora of issues.

  1. Homestead-Miami (Oval)
    Pit Exit:
  • Problem: The pit exit feeds you into the apex of T1 at a significantly reduced speed compared to oncoming traffic. Anybody trying to take the low line through T1 and T2 has next to no time to react and will hit you.
  • Solution: Just use the actual pit exit that you have already modeled into the game. Move the blend to the back straight like they do in real-life. Give players the entire length of the back straight to accelerate up to racing speed to minimize chaos in the corners.

Pit Entry:

  • Problem: Less of an issue than pit exit, but still an issue with people cutting across traffic in the exit of T4 in order to pit.
  • Solution: Implement the same style pit lane as is in use at Eaglerock and in Homestead in real-life. Pit commit and start of pit lane are before T3.
  1. Homestead-Miami (Road Course)
    Pit Entry:
  • Problem: Issues with people cutting across traffic out of T15 to pit
  • Solution: JUST USE THE REAL-LIFE PIT ENTRY! Let cars enter the pits before T13. It’s already modeled into the game.
