For you racers who enjoy the longer distance races that require pitting, what is your stance on the current pit exits in the game? With the addition of Daytona International Speedway, the pit exits have now more than ever been one of the most difficult and fustrating nuisances in my personal experience; and I am sure a few of you others feel the same. Not only is Daytona one of the worst pit exits, Laguna Seca, Miami Homestead, Indianapolis, and others all put you directly in the path of the racing line AND braking zones, not only severely risking your vehicle and race, but others as well. If additional tracks are going to continue to be added, pit exits are not likely to be addressed until there is enough uproar stating it is needed. I understand that track limits and the penalty system are to blame, but is it really that hard to put of a barrier/wall between these pit exit lanes and the track? Simply extend the race limits from the inside of the pit exit, and out to the outside of the track/curb.

I haven’t personally experienced crashes due to pit exits so I say no. That said, pit exits could be better and I would prefer having the car in my control earlier when returning to track.

They should just copy how the exits are IRL and not randomly put them somewhere.

What I don’t like about pits is something else, in seasonal hoopers, if u happen to drive in car that don’t have race transmission vs cars that have race transmission, auto pit driver will take ages to shift, loosing u lot of time on pit exit, also pit exploit that allows u to skip part of pit animation ( u can save ~2s).
Exits are well… Everyone on track just need to watch out.

The handover point needs to be sooner on pit exit in general, but there are some tracks where it drastically needs a change. Silverstone (GP) throws you towards the curb at the last second before releasing the controls so if you’re not on the ball you end up running off the track straight away.

Basically, as soon as the pit lane speed limiter disables I think you should regain control. That way, you’re not trying to second-guess whether you need to upshift or not (I’ve had a couple of times where the game shifts right before giving back control, so you end up double-shifting and being a sitting duck until the first corner)

In saying that though, they’re not “ruining” my experience. They are annoying and tedious, but I prefer races with pit stops in them to those without so I take the good with the bad.

More a matter of pit entrances, in my experience  In single player i think i have HAD to use the pits only once, and that’s because i ran 20 laps at Le Mans and i needed to gas up a few times

Agreed that pit entrances need work too, I always try and sneak in one test pit during MP practice to double-check whether I can steam in at full throttle or if I have to brake before the game takes control (there are one or two tracks where this happens and I always forget which ones they are)

Not only are pit exits borken (sic) but the game always has me joining for the first time the track near other cars. It happens in free play, it happens in multiplayer, and it happens in the FOMO lists. When returning from qualifying, its a dice roll on if I exit the pits into traffic, or if no one is around cause, I can’t see the mini map while in menu. So, don’t be surprised to hear someone yell gangway when exiting the pits. They really need to fix pit exits

I’d rank in the issue so far down the list of things that need fixing that would be equivalent to FM’s most played pos on Xbox chart. Not saying it doesn’t , just far, far bigger fish to fry. Let’s get some content that requires you to use a pit feature first no?

Question (you might read it as rant as well):
Will we ever get tracks like Laguna Seca or Daytona with a propper pit exit?

I really like Seca and Daytona (both layouts).
But because the pit exit is not only inaccurate, it is completely wrong I drive these tracks not anymore in FM. When I want to race them, I use Automobilista 2.

Yet another puzzling design decision by the devs… Why the hell would they do that?! … I mean what purpose does it serve… What were they in a meeting saying 'You know what would be fun? blocking off proper pit exits, so there are more crashes! ’

Yes

I voted no on this, however, I don’t like being handed back control of my car at Daytona while it is heading into turn 3 (first hairpin) at full throttle.

I would prefer that we get control of our cars back at the end of the pit wall that way we can properly brake into this corner on our own.

I’ve seen some videos of the updated put exit at Leguna Seca and I’m sit sure that is a safe exit back onto the track either. At least make the car hug the left side of the track before handing back control to the player please.

If anyone else is seeing these problems, please let’s let the devs know.

They have made steps in the right direction, but our feedback helps them more to know how we feel about the experience of the game.
