To the Turn 10 Development Team: Thank You

I’ve been a long time Forza fan, but I’m new to the forums. I’ve been reading a lot of complaints about F5 and I’ve felt bothered by them. I’ve worked in development for 14 years, and the one pattern I almost always see is customers who are upset are louder than the customers who are not. I’m not upset. I’m happy, so I want to reach out and say thank you for this latest game, and the entire franchise. I’ve had endless hours of entertainment from your games, and I look forward to many more.

I’ve always looked at the value of entertainment in the amount of dollars I’ve spent on it. The way I break it down is I’m willing to spend $10 on a 2 hour movie ticket to be entertained (and the movie might end up sucking), therefore my entertainment budget should be about $5/hour. I’ve spent about 24 hours actually racing in F5, which has gotten me what I consider $120 worth of entertainment value. That’s also about what I spent on the game, season pass, and VIP pass. Every extra hour now is free entertainment as far as I’m concerned.

Do I want more tracks, cars, features like weather, etc. Hell yeah I do. But I also understand how development works. I have faith that T10 is hard at work on some of these features, and I’ll be able to enjoy them in due course.

Keep up the great work guys, I’m looking forward to what the future brings.

I agree.

I didn’t play Forza 4 as much as Forza 3 as i went overkill on that.

But i have played the hell out of Forza 5 and for the first time have taken an keener interest in tuning and painting as well as racing.

I do think that it is about time we had weather adjustments for the next game, as well as custom online lobbies though, similar to the Formula One games. T10 can not stand still and i will not buy the next installation unless there are significant additions.

In terms of criticism for the game, i think alot of the issues on this forum are minor. The game on the whole is stunning.

I agree with this too. I haven’t played since Forza’s 1-3 and I played the HELL out of those games. On and offline. Then I got addicted to RPG’s and FPS and put the racing down since now. Then Xbox One comes along and F5 and BF4 were the only two games that were launch titles that I have and thought should be must haves. I figured it would be Forza 5 that would be the filler in between sessions of BF4 as I was a huge BF3 player. I couldn’t have been more wrong. I have sunk hours into Forza 5 and I am barely a rank 4 in BF4 online. I play it so much that I got the season pass, VIP, and bought the $50 pack of tokens. I have just about finished the career mode (two series to go in the racing category) and can’t wait to pour more hours into free play and online. Every dollar I have spent so far has been very well spent. Is career mode a little laborious? Yes but it should be, as it’s making you get better at every car series. The real bonus is if you have purchased a separate car for every series, you have a pretty kick ass stable in your garage to work with.

Do I want more tracks? Of course, but I am enjoying the ones I have now. I am sure there will be a map pack available at some time in the future and I will get it whether it’s a free download or not. We already know there are cars coming. Have a little patience.

I agree. Development is harder than people usually think. I wish there were more tracks and cars, but I’m impressed with what we have knowing the hours it took for each track/car.

Well said and I totally agree! Keep up the great work.

Finally, a thread with some common sense. I’m also incredibly pleased with Forza 5. I love it. Of course it has it’s problems, but every game does. I don’t feel as though the negatives outweigh the positives by any means. Good work, and thanks to Turn 10! Can’t wait to see what comes next for Forza!

Well said! I specifically ditched playstation/gran turismo series after waiting for 6 so long only to realize it’s another lifeless bust, forza 5 I cannot put down, the game has the simulator factor without being lifeless, great job and I know the next one is going to be better with more time to develop it for the next gen console

Thank you for the post! It get’s depressing reading about every little gripe people have. Personally I love the game and can’t stop playing it. If it wasn’t for Forza 5 my Xbox One would hardly get any gaming use (I seem to get steadily worse at Call of Duty).
Thank you Kaewyn and thank you Turn 10!

I also agree as Forza is not only my favorite game on the Xbox one but it is played about 15 times more than any other game and I own 4 ( not going to bad mouth the others so I won’t mention what the other 3 are )

I spent so many hours playing FM2 (great game) and here on the forums that it burnt me out. When I got FM3 i played it twice and my EX-WIFE made me get rid of it before I got hooked. Now that she is gone I grabbed FM5 and love it. I’m pretty sick on the forums right now cause it just seems to be fill with a bunch of babies crying about everything. I have played hours of this game and I’m not bored at all still lots to do.

I think all the cry babies are forgetting that FM5 is on a brand new system that means things have changed and everyone should know by now launch titles are never perfect. FM5 is a great game thanks T10

I appreciate that Turn10 made the tough decision to rework the underlying physics and continue to push Forza forward as a simulation title.

I understand that people are missing some of the content in Forza4, but to be honest, what’s the point to have a new title if you don’t improve the physics? I don’t want Forza to fall down to the level of arcade racer (like so many complainers here seem to want it to be). Sure, there aren’t as many cars and tracks as previous titles, but the increase in fidelity is so significant, that it really makes going back seem silly.

Please, keep this title as a simulator, and keep Horizon going for all the people that need that sort of content. I want tire on the track physics and the dynamicism that’s in Forza5. It’s a major step forward.

Big shout out to all of the T 10 staff, from the developers, to the folks working on the licensing agreements with the vehicle manufacturers and the tracks, to the folks scanning all of the new tracks, and to all of the other folks in the background that are making things happen. Keep the content coming!

That seems to be the biggest thing people forget when they complain about price. It’s very cheap compared to other forms of entertainment.
