To Developers!

Dear developers. Hello.
After returning to your so-called game, I have a few questions for you. It’s doubtful, of course, that any of you come here and read what your community wants from you, but I’ll try anyway.

  1. I have very good hardware in my computer (Intel Core i9-13900K, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090, 32 GB DDR5 5200 MHz, 1000GB M.2 NVMe - where your game is installed). Attention question. At maximum graphics settings, your game only consumes about 10 gigabytes of video memory and I have 24 available. When testing the performance with these settings, everything goes like clockwork, it stays stable at about 90fps, but as soon as I enter an online race, everything starts to statter and it’s simply unrealistic to play. And this does not depend on what resolution I play in, 4K or 1080p. Not only have you cut down the graphics in multiplayer, but EVEN my hardware can’t cope with this misunderstanding. When you have already optimized your product for which I paid 100€ and still can’t play normally!!!

  2. Question number two. What was going through your mind when you were making the multiplayer tracks? Why should I drive 8-9 laps of the stub, if I can do 3-4 laps of the standard track? Put these bits in the trash, let us drive normally on normal tracks.

  3. Of course, you’re great for adding the Nürburgring to the game, but why isn’t it in any of the multiplayer rotations?

  4. Finally, make a free choice of classes in multiplayer. What kind of mockery is this with some classes E or P. It’s not even funny anymore. Or make it so that we ourselves can open public lobbies or can find a lobby in which we want to play. It was all the same before. What did you do with the game?

  5. And one more thing. When will you fix ray tracing? It is almost impossible to drive behind any car at night, because the color in front of the moving car illuminates the entire track from the front. And the circus itself begins when a pearl-colored car drives in front, then the entire road and surroundings shimmer with all the colors of the rainbow. How long can this bug go unfixed?

I have to agree with the last point, RT is not done all that well, and makes the colours of objects reflecting on the track very exaggerated. Just look at the exhaust pop flame - it casts a strange purple hue over the track that sticks around well over a second, as if running at 10 fps.

Bizarre implementation of RT to be honest. Feels very unfinished. Hate the shimmering and glowing around cockpit parts.

  1. The game is locked to 60 FPS in multiplayer.

Edit:

This how it used to be, i am not sure that still works like that:

240Hz = 60 fps
200Hz = 100 fps
165Hz = 82.5 fps
144Hz = 72 fps
120Hz = 60 fps
100Hz = 100 fps
60Hz = 60 fps

In Multiplayer you can only get to a maximum of 100 FPS. You need to use the correct refreshrate to get 100 FPS. It has something to do with a V-Sync bug or something.

Your list is what I am seeing in multi-player. My screens are 165hz, and in multiplayer I get a locked 82FPS.

i play that game with 60fps option and vsync ON. I try it on DLSS DLAA and balance, and try with out DLSS. Is no way to play anyways

The last part isn’t the fault of RT i think. It’s their Surfel GI, which is implemented very poorly and can result in some terrible results like the one you’ve mentioned.

RT Global Illumination, which they promised, would fix this and also work wonders for Forza’s visuals.

Will RT Global Illumination also fix the really annoying glowing and shimmering around cockpit parts? That’s really starting to get on my nerves now and I’m forced to use one of the other views.

Q2 - The reason you drive on the short bits of track is because the tyre wear mechanic is so bad, your strat options are limited to only 2 tyre sets.

Q3 - It’s not in the rotation because soft and medium tyres would not last a full lap, I have doubts on a set of hards lasting a full lap without going orange (moderate) due to all the turns and positive G sections, as well as negative G summits resulting in tyre scrubbing.

Q4 - They are restricting the multiplayer modes because the playerbase is next to non-existent and a lot of lobbies are already capping out at 11 or 12 players.

Q5 - Ray Tracing in FM2023 is actually a gimmick that doesn’t work and just hogs performance and resources. You’re better off disabling RT and just running with the standard cube map reflections on medium settings (high might cause your computer to undergo a fission reaction that obliterates your local area due to such poor optimisation)

If you want to get to 100fps, just lock your monitor to 100 Hz in the windows display settings. I have a 144 Hz monitor and I’m usually locked to 72 fps in Multiplayer - but now I get a buttery smooth 100 fps.

It’s laughable that Turn10 said for “fairness” they were locking MP @ 60, then those with better monitors are able to achieve 72, 100fps :sweat_smile:

So it’s not if you have a 4090 advantage, it’s all about your monitor, who would have thought :crazy_face:

What kind of tire wear are you talking about? People ride 8 laps of a short track on soft tires without stopping to change them… That’s why I have a question. Why should I ride 8 laps of a stub when I can ride 3-4 laps of normal ones. Maybe their tires will wear out longer and they will still stop at the pit stop to change the tires on their imbalanced Mazdas. And naturally the game dies because everyone drives 1-2 cars. Especially in the lower classes. I hope that this game will be the end of the mockery of the once beloved franchise. Shoot this misunderstanding already
