Tire Pressure

This past saturday, I took part in a friendly little tourney run by CFG and it was painfully obvious how outclassed I was. I mean, I frequently dominate in points lobbies against common rabble, but the skill gap between me and the others present that day was pretty big.

The biggest difference was in how I drifted vs the others, which came down to the fact that I usually try and slide up to the apex of a turn, and power out, but the other folks in the lobby were all running high grip setups and would put power down throughout the whole turn. This resulted in me being much slower than the other participants as well as taking somewhat different lines.

The question I’m posing is what pressure, front and rear, people are using in competitive tunes for this high grip style of drifting, because up until now, I have been running about 28 in front and 31 in back on most of my cars. My beloved tune for my s15 on FM5 saw 33 in back for christ’s sake.

Try 27 front and 25 rear and see how that feels to you.

Thanks for the tip. I just applied that to my RC-F with 717bhp and it feels pretty good. I can carry about 10 mph more through corners than before. I had no idea it had to be that low. I run 24 on my drag cars.

It’s personal preference I run stock tire PSI on most of my cars, I feel when I mess with tire pressure my cars feel about off balance and slower. IMO mix up the tune a bit really break down the setup.
