Tire help/thread location - Nascar pack/update

Hey,

Google searched without much luck and could get the search function to work on this site…so not much luck with my question. And Turn10 doesn’t really have an instruction manual or decent help section.

With the last update I saw a new tire indication on the HUD which i’m curious to what it means. I bumped up against a wall in a race (Nascar stock car) and after that, the outline of one of my tires was outlined in red on the indicator. It only ever did it once and just wondering if anyone else has seen this…or even know what it means?

Thanks
Archer

Did it stay that way? I wonder if it could be something like a bent wheel? And no I have never had this happen to me.

Yeah, stayed that way for the rest of the race. I didn’t pit, so no clue as to if it would go away. Figured it could have been some sort of damage. So…I looked at the damage screen hoping to see something. Nothing. It had tire wear that matched or seemed acceptable.

Bent wheel…perhaps. With what I feel a lack of info on features, it would make sense to incorporate that. It didn’t feel weird driving.

But thanks for at least replying to this.

I’ve noticed it too while running the endurance races. I suspect the outer ring is a tire wear indicator. The inner part changes color according to temperature, like it always has.

So, in your case, I suspect your brush with the wall wore out your tires immediately, since Forza doesn’t have the ability to replicate a flat.

What this guy says. The outline is the wear, while the inside fill is the temp.

Okay yeah now I remember seeing that too. I forgot all about that. It seems forever since that first week of the Nascar League with damage, wear, & consumption turned on. Wear and consumption is a lot of fun in my opinion.

Thanks for the input. Must have hit the wall just right…not that i’m out to hit walls, but every time I hit a wall this never has happened. Guess i’m just “good” at hitting walls generally. lol.

Back to a previous part of the OP; has this been covered before can you recall. Or is there anywhere that detailed info can be found. Call me old fashioned, but I miss stuff in instruction manuals

Being this is the first topic I’ve seen mentioning tires…anyone notice that tires seem to wear out faster now? Granted, the wear doesn’t really effect most cars until about 50 to 60%, but…for example, running stock cars on Laguna Seca…front tires had 38% wear after 5 laps. Bear in mind I don’t lock up the tires under braking, nor do I slide the car around the corners.

If your setup is causing push, or if your driving technique generates push, then you will be wearing out he fronts prematurely. Happens in real life racing, too. It is all part of a good set up.

I can’t recall it being addressed in the game or on the website. I may have just missed it though.
