Tips for ranked adventure?

I’m trying to find my way up the leaderboards in ranked adventure, but Its become incredibly frustrating for me. I’ll finish first but my team will place poorly and we’ll still lose the round, it happens, it’s a team game, whatever. What frustrates me is I still lose ELO based on this fact, despite the fact that it’s simply impossible for me to make an impact on my team’s score that guarantees a win. This is aside from when I bring a rally car to a dirt racing stage and the guy who brought a truck spends the entire match shoving me and my teammates away from checkpoints and into trees when we try to get around him.

Again, I get it’s a team game, rubbing is racing, and that’s fine. It provides a more leveled experience where leaderboarders and learners can participate in the same race and still potentially have fun. I just wish I didn’t derank for something beyond my control.

Is there anything I can do about this?

Well after reading that I definitely do not want to play ranked adventures! I tried once and planned to try again but I’m not going to bother now. Forced team play on an “Individual” game is simply a waste of time.

I know right? I have the same problems. Ranked is such a joke it isn’t even funny.

Team game is fine, however if the team is extremely unbalanced. The points you get / lose is not reasonable.
I lose a 3 vs 6 game , lose 83 points. Just insane. Winning any game hardly earn me 50 points.
I am just rank 11 , now down to 13, in 2 days of extreme bad luck losing, losing and losing. One of them lose a 6 vs 3 -1XX points. ~_~
Wining is not wining, just no points given away.

Tips for ranked:
Once you qualify to Rank 20 or 19, stop playing. You won’t rank up easily.
You will be angry with your “good” teammates (weather they leave mid race or not) and the points system that rip off higher rank players.

No.

But you can still enjoy the racing itself. If you consistently finish in the top5, you will inevitably climb the ladder.
It might take longer depending on your teammates’ skill, but so be it.

Your rank is just the icing on the cake, some additional rewards on top of the influence & wheelspins you get for the event.

Yesterday I won against a rank 4 with a team of randoms.
And I was really not doing that good…

I made a mistake and came offroad hitting a tree. But I kept on doing my best. Me coming in front of the guy on 11th place, made us win the race.

Final Scoreboard

So you are rank 12, how many points you got from that race?

I reckon this is the best tip I can give you:

DON’T

You obviously have done the qualifying for the achivement already. So let it rest and see if the Devs are willing to tidy up the bloody mess they delivered to us…

I accidentally ended up racing a truck in a road racing series yesterday, due to running out of time while trying to select something more appropriate, and was amazed to see it from the other side. I expected to have a big advantage in the melee, but still got pushed outside a checkpoint on turn 2 of race 1, and in another race a much smaller car still seemed to come off better than me and managed to cause me to go straight into a wall, requiring a reverse to get out of it, last again. I suspect success in the ramming melee is actually a driving skill in its own right that I haven’t mastered yet.

Another tip is that, if you play “unlimited” ,
Watch carefully what the 3 races are, and pick the right car.
There are chances for long endurance race.

What is “Unlimited” and how do you select the option?

Isn’t the best tip to use the Boneshaker?

Raptor '17 is also OP as hell with Cross Country / Dirt on A800. Macan Turbo seems to do very well in crosscountry/offroad S1 900.

Sadly, the true tips if you simply want to climb the ladder quickly on ranked are:

  • Use OP cars like the Bone Shaker or Raptor, find good setups. Heavy cars like the Raptor are perfect for preventing being pushed from the road or to push others aside if needed. Even the speed and acceleration is on par with sedans.
  • Wallride wherever possible, low weight + as much power as possible is the key (you want to recover the speed ASAP, all driving assists except for ABS must be off)
  • Use other people’s car as turn assist when needed
  • Freeroam rush is RNG garbage, do your best but don’t try to fight for the win. It’s a mode where you can be first for 90% of the run, flip your car on a tiny hole and finish last. Focus on normal races.
  • RWD cars aren’t competitive, don’t bother.

Don’t try to race clean as no one on ranked does that, rank 10 and better are wallriders all the way. Been there, done that :frowning: On some circuits they will run 5-10s faster laptimes due to wallriding and if you try to overtake, people will either block you or try to push you aside to make you miss the checkpoint.
You can try to change the world yourself by racing clean but it will get you nowhere on the list, it’s the game itself that needs fixing by preventing wallriding / ramming (non contact racing pretty please).

Please don’t take this as an encouragement to be a scoombag on the racetrack but that’s how things look like at the moment in ranked racing.

Meh, lost 3 adventures in a row, down to zero points. Had a slaughter fest win last night, zero points added.

I’ll just do one a month for the playlist. The competition is fine for me. Winning a race isn’t really an issue, will generally come in the top 4. But if all I do is lose points or not gain any, not much point in it.

Ranked gameplay is simply broken at the moment. The game is programmed in a way to give weaker players a boost and the leader a handicap so bad players / newbies can get a chance and not get slaughtered every race (and probably quitting the game). Freeroam rush is the best example. They do this because the vast majority of drivers is weak, driving using keyboard, bad setups etc so they need to do such trickery to keep the player base.

I’ve encountered it countless times - stuff like dirivng first and suddenly my car is starting to steer like a wooden log or placing me last at the grid after winning the previous race severely hampering my chance to win another race as now I have to make my way through 11 obstacles.

Another problem are the breakable obstacles so the first driver that has to go thorugh is being slowed down a lot so others can catch up. Lampposts are a similar issue, someone mows one down, it hits the other guy’s windshield and he gets slowed down by like 15-20km/h. Where is fair play in this? This is a big problem in Edinburgh.
